Curtain Raiser of Pink City Design Confluence 2022 and the Inauguration of Design Dhara Exhibition – Jaipur
Jaipur, March 2022: In an effort to invoke interest and enthusiasm about the various nuances of design as a culture,ARCH College of Design and Business raised the curtain on Design Dhara Exhibition and Pink City Design Confluence 2022. Special guests Princess GauraviKumariand Mr. Mahavir Sharma, Founder & Chairman, Rajasthan Angels (RAIN) inaugurated the events at the college campus.
With FORM.REFORM.TRANSFORM theme, this confluence is an the opportunity where the design fraternity gets to explain the journey of getting into the beautiful space of design transitions and seeks to address all constituents that initiate transformations and the role of Design in bringing about these changes. The Confluence will see panel discussions on four sub themes: Society 5.0, Creativity 5.0, Design Leadership and Harmonious Livability.
At the Design Dhara Exhibition, there will be installations, design award prototypes, and designing creations of the students. The students will also present a final creation with their prototypes and eminent jury shall select the best design and best ideas to be registered with i-Start Rajasthan.
Putting more light on the Pink City Confluence and Design Dhara Exhibition, ArchanaSurana, Director and Founder, ARCH College of Design and Business, said, “We believe in co-creation and design culture as a way of life.We are hosting the Pink City Confluence which will act as an interface between education and industry sectors to debate how Design-Technology education can support a harmonious relationship between Nature and the Man-Made world and be a venue for convergence of consciousness, creativity, community and commerce.”
ARCH’sDESIGN CULTURE initiativeconsists of several series of events including DesignAbility Workshops for creating awareness about design in school education in tune with NEP 2020, Design Culture Awards’22, Design School Awards’22, Design Clubs and Designathon for schools and colleges. In January this year, a pre-session was organised under Designathon in which 100 students from different schools and colleges participated including The Palace School Jaipur, MGPS Jaipur, Sanskar School Jaipur, St. Anselm School Pink City, Subodh Public School and Shankara Institute of Technology,Poornima College of Engineering Jaipur, Arya College of Engineering & IT.
For Design Culture Awards, over 40+ Research papers and 30+ entries for Design Awards’22 have been submitted by National and International participants from fields of design education, science & technology, the corporates, the creative industries and linked professions in almost all domains.
The Confluence outputs will include a high-level statement and proposal to policymakers with recommendations about harnessing the power of Design to address current educational challenges, ensuring quality education and lifelong opportunities for all in the new world scenario.
As a part of Design Culture initiative, ARCH has tied up with Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF) and is hosting a session on Form, Design and Function: Leadership & Society. Satish Gokhale, Founder Director, Design Directions Private Limited and PrahladKakkar Founding Member, Association of Designers of India (ADI) will be there In Conversation with ArchanaSurana. Arch will also organise FABA –THE HERITAGE Fashion Show 2022 at Amer Fort on 13th March under the flagship of JLF.
