Boost to Professional Infrastructure: G. Kishan Reddy Flags Off ICSI Hyderabad Chapter’s New Building Project
Hyderabad, April 21, 2025: Union Minister Shri G. Kishan Reddy, 5-floor, laid the foundation stone for the new building of the ICSI Hyderabad Chapter at Anandnagar Colony today. The event was attended by over 200 dignitaries, professionals, and students.
In his address, the Minister emphasised the vital role of Company Secretaries (CS) in shaping corporate governance and strengthening investor confidence. “India is fast approaching the $5 trillion economy milestone. In this journey, corporate governance professionals will play a pivotal role,” he remarked. He urged ICSI to showcase India’s global intellectual property and corporate governance leadership, noting the growing international demand for Indian talent.
He also lauded the contribution of ICSI in nation-building and called upon the institute to scale up its efforts to produce 1.5 lakh Company Secretaries by 2035, from the current 75,000.
The upcoming facility will be a five-storey, 11,086 sq. ft. state-of-the-art centre, built on a 500 sq. yard plot with an estimated outlay of INR 10 crore, and is expected to be completed in 15 months. It will house a multi-purpose hall, conference facilities, counselling centres, classrooms, a moot court, and a modern library, serving as a hub for professional development and student training.
Speaking at the occasion, CS Dhananjay Shukla, National President, ICSI, highlighted the institute’s focus on capacity building in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance). “Company Secretaries are increasingly responsible for advising Boards on ESG compliance, coordinating CSR audits, and ensuring regulatory transparency,” he said.
The Hyderabad Chapter, established in 1974, is one of the most vibrant among ICSI’s 74 chapters, with over 2,000 members and 6,000 students. In its 51-year journey, the chapter has produced more than 5,000 Company Secretaries and trained over 15,000 students, said R Venkata Ramana, Council Member, The ICSI & Chairman, Infrastructure Committee for Hyderabad Chapter Building Project.
The new facility will be a professional development centre that will train students. It will have a multi-purpose hall, conference hall, counselling centres, class rooms, a moot court, state of a art library, informed R Venkata Ramana.
“This long-awaited building will serve as a focal point for expanding our impact on the profession and corporate community,” said CS Shukla.
ICSI has also launched a Debating Society across its 74 chapters, empowering students through public speaking, leadership, and critical thinking activities.

The ICSI continues to play a key role in a wide spectrum of governance and compliance areas, including the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, Valuations, GST, Forensic Audits, Management Consulting, and Risk Management.
