Author-Filmmaker Ashutosh Jaiswal Unveils New Psychological Thriller

New Delhi, Feb 23th: Author-filmmaker Ashutosh Jaiswal, under his banner Filmpub Entertainment, successfully hosted a private screening of his short film “Papa My Hero”, a psychological thriller that delves into the darker recesses of human conflict and moral duality. The exclusive event, attended by noted social activist Yogita Bhayana, brought together members of the creative and social advocacy communities and offered an intimate first look at Jaiswal’s evolving cinematic voice.

The film explores themes of internal conflict, the masks individuals wear in society, and the disturbing realities of flesh trade. Anchored in intense exchanges and unpredictable narrative turns, “Papa My Hero” reflects Jaiswal’s commitment to storytelling that challenges audiences intellectually and emotionally. Known for his structural precision and layered dialogue, Jaiswal brings to the screen the same psychological depth that has defined his literary career.

Speaking about the film, Ashutosh Jaiswal said, “This film is a result of a deep dive into the dynamics of human tension. Through Filmpub, our goal is to bring back the power of the written word to the screen by making films that force you to think and stories that stay with you.” Emphasizing his seamless movement between literature and cinema, he added, “For me, storytelling begins and ends with writing. Whether it’s a novel or a screenplay, the soul of the story lies in the written word. The medium may change, but the discipline of writing remains sacred.”

He further noted, “I have never seen myself as confined to a format. A story chooses its canvas — sometimes it demands the intimacy of a novel, sometimes the immediacy of cinema. My job is simply to remain honest to the narrative.” Reflecting on his artistic philosophy, Jaiswal remarked, “Cinema is not a departure from literature; it is an extension of it. I approach filmmaking with the same seriousness and structural rigor that I bring to my novels. If the writing is strong, the medium becomes secondary.”

Praising the filmmaker’s transition from page to screen, Yogita Bhayana commented, “Once again Ashutosh has sounded his concern for rising crime in his unique voice, this time on screen. I congratulate him on his successful transition from novels to film.” The film is directed by Ashutosh Jaiswal and produced by Rashmy Raut Jaiswal under the banner Filmpub Entertainment.

Ashutosh Jaiswal previously captivated readers with his novel Behind the Red Lipstick, a psychological exploration of Tina, a woman trapped in an abusive marriage. With “Papa My Hero”, he continues to explore complex human realities through a cinematic lens, reinforcing his position as a storyteller deeply invested in the art of writing and unafraid to confront uncomfortable truths.
