IOD felicitates Public and Private Sectors Corporates-Winners of Golden Peacock Awards for CSR and HR Excellence

New Delhi, June 2022: It was a grand gala get together for public and private sector corporates. For some of the big corporates, it was a big time to celebrate their success stories in Corporate Excellence including Social Responsibility (CSR), HR Excellence, Innovation Managment, and Risk Management. Public and Private Sectors Corporates who excelled in their CSR and HR Excellence were felicitated by the Institute of Directors (IOD) for winning the Golden Peacock Awards.

Some of the award winners were from the leading industry and business groups, both public and private sectors from India and abroad namely Amazon Web Services, USA, Tristar Group, UAE, PTT Exploration and Production Public Company, Thailand, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Bosch Automotive Electronics India, Coromandel International, Muthoot Finance Limited, GAIL (India) Limited, JSW Steel and Reliance Industries Limited. GAIL bags the Golden Peacock Award for CSR in the Gas sector.

Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture, Government of India Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal gave away these coveted awards at a function organised in New Delhi on Friday. The Minister was the Chief Guest at the Golden Peacock Awards ceremony and presented the awards for the Corporate Social Responsibility, HR Excellence, Risk Management and Innovation Management for the year 2021.

On the occasion, Mr Ashok Kapur IAS (Retd), Director General, Institute Of Directors said, “We are delighted to felicitate the winners of Golden Peacock Awards 2021. Golden Peacock Awards, instituted by the IOD in 1991, are now regarded as a Holy Grail of Corporate Excellence Worldwide.”

The International Conference was Inaugurated by Mr Atanu Chakraborty, Chairman, HDFC Bank and former Finance Secretary, Govt. of India, Mr KunalSanghavi, CFO, HDFC Securities, Mr NavneetMunot, MD & CEO, HDFC AMC, Mr Vivek Kumar Dewangan IAS, CMD, RECL. More than 300 Corporate Delegates from India and other different parts of the world such as the UK, USA, UAE, Thailand, Russia and Malaysia attended the function.

Prof. (Judge) Mervyn E. King SC, Chairman, King Committee on Corporate Governance, Chair Emeritus, International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) & Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) was the ‘Guest of Honour’ and delivered the ‘Keynote Address’ through online. Prof. David Grayson CBE, Emeritus Professor of Corporate Responsibility, Cranfield School of Management, UK, delivered the Special Address virtually.

Mr Manoj Joshi IAS, Secretary, Housing and Urban Affairs, India, Ms Vini Mahajan IAS, Secretary, Drinking Water and Sanitation, India also delivered the special address at the International Conference.
