Highest Asian ranking to-date underscores growing employer recognition and academic strength

SMU Master of Science in Applied Finance also ranks 3rd in Asia

SINGAPORE, Sept. 18, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Singapore Management University’s (SMU) Master of Business Administration (MBA) has reached a new high in the 2027 QS Global MBA Rankings, rising to 3rd in Asia, its highest regional position to date, and ranking 41st globally.

SMU Lee Kong Chian School of Business

The result marks the third consecutive year that the SMU MBA has risen in Asia, climbing from 6th in 2024 to 5th in 2025, 4th in 2026 and now 3rd in 2027. It is the second highest ranked MBA programme in Singapore and remains within the top 10 per cent of more than 400 MBA programmes assessed worldwide. The strong showing is underpinned by gains in employer recognition and graduate employment, alongside a 4th-place ranking in Asia for Thought Leadership, highlighting the combination of strong career outcomes and academic excellence that defines the SMU MBA experience.

SMU Master of Science in Applied Finance also ranks 3rd in Asia

SMU’s strong performance also extends to the 2027 QS Master’s in Finance Rankings, where its Master of Science in Applied Finance (MAF) ranks 3rd in Asia and 39th globally. It remains the only finance master’s programme in Singapore included in the rankings, as the field expanded significantly from 248 programmes last year to 319 this year.

Academic strength with impact

Thought Leadership was another area of strength, with both programmes ranking among the world’s Top 40, with the MBA at 33rd and the MAF at 19th. These results underscore SMU’s Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB)’s growing standing as a source of influential research and ideas that contribute to business and management thinking.

Almost all teaching faculty at SMU’s LKCSB hold doctorates, bringing deep academic expertise and research insights into the classroom. The growing influence of their research is also reflected in this year’s rankings, with research impact improving for both the MBA and MAF. Students across the MBA and MAF learn from well-qualified faculty in their areas of expertise, giving them access to current thinking and research that can be applied to real-world business challenges.

Professor Shantanu Bhattacharya, Deputy Dean (Education) at SMU’s Lee Kong Chian School of Business, said: “Our MBA and MAF both ranking 3rd in Asia is a strong affirmation of the quality of an SMU business education and the progress we have made over several years. This recognition reflects the calibre of our faculty, the relevance and impact of their research, and the value employers place on our graduates. We are particularly encouraged by the growing recognition from employers, which speaks to the capabilities and perspectives our graduates bring to the workplace. In the latest graduate employment survey, 86% and 78% of our MBA and MAF postgraduate students secured employment within six months of graduation respectively. Our focus remains on delivering an education that equips our students to advance their careers, seize new opportunities and lead with confidence in a dynamic and rapidly evolving Asia.”

Both the MBA and the MAF are offered by the University’s Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB).

The 2027 QS Global MBA and Master’s in Finance rankings assessed more than 400 MBA programmes and 319 Master’s in Finance programmes globally, respectively. Both rankings draw on extensive feedback from employers and academics worldwide and assess programmes across five areas: Employability, Alumni Outcomes, Thought Leadership, Value for Money and Diversity.

Mayor Katie B. Wilson announces new support for neighborhood grocery stores

Increased support through the Office of Economic Development helps neighborhood grocery stores with expert data, technical assistance, and improved storefront security.

Seattle, WA – Today, Mayor Katie B. Wilson announced new support measures directed to local neighborhood grocery stores. This new support includes the commission of a retail study specifically for grocery retailers, a program to support a cohort of local grocers with industry specific technical assistance, and dedicated funds for storefront security enhancements. The result will be more grocery stores can grow and succeed in communities that are underserved by food retailers. Mayor Wilson has approved $1.7 million and directed the Office of Economic Development to stand up these new support services and administer the programs.

“Every person deserves to have access to fresh, healthy food,” said Mayor Katie B. Wilson. “We are supporting local grocers because neighborhood stores play a vital role in making our city more affordable and livable. For working families underserved by large retailers, and the small, family-owned markets that are cornerstones of our communities, we are investing in a future where everyone can access the food they need.”

As a pilot, OED is working with Lam’s Seafood Asian Market, a family-owned grocer that has served the Chinatown-International District since the 1990s. As Lam’s prepares to open its third location, OED supported the business through permit navigation, helped cover the cost of repairs following recent break-ins, and is now scoping facade and security improvements ahead of the store’s upcoming opening. The successful pilot allowed the City to form these support services on a scale that will support more grocery stores with more meaningful services.

“With support from the City of Seattle, we’re excited to bring Lam’s Seafood Asian Market to Rainier Valley and fill a grocery site that has been vacant for 8 years. As a community-focused independent grocer, our goal has always been to bring high quality, culturally relevant foods to our community and this is the perfect site to do so,” said David Tran, owner of Lam’s Seafood Asian Market. “The City will help fund essential security upgrades to assist us in creating a brighter, more welcoming storefront for our customers and prevent break-ins and vandalism.”

Next steps

OED will deploy resources for both independent grocers and larger supermarkets across Seattle.

Independent Grocers Alliance (IGA) will conduct a series of grocery store market analyses in eight neighborhoods. These studies will analyze the uncaptured market potential for a new grocery store and determine which types of grocery retail are best suited for different neighborhoods based on each community’s needs and existing access to food. The studies will inform and support a grocery attraction strategy to help grocery stores expand into underserved communities.

Ten independently owned grocery stores will receive a year of industry-specific technical assistance provided by IGA, paired with funding for essential improvements. This paired strategy will equip grocery stores with training and operational efficiencies to adjust to the rapid increases in cost and changing consumer behavior. Priority will go to legacy grocery stores and stores in underserved neighborhoods.

Expanding on the success of the partnership pilot with Lam’s Seafood Asian Market, OED will create a one-time grocery store-specific arm of the Back to Business Program tailored to the needs of grocery stores, with the goal of improving safety and the experience for customers and employees. OED will partner with supermarkets experiencing high rates of retail theft to fund one-time security and facility upgrades, consistent with Crime Prevention by Environmental Design principles. Project selection will be informed by crime data from Seattle Police Department and input from community partners.

“Securing our grocery stores not only ensures better access to food, but it makes our neighborhoods safer and more vibrant,” said Beto Yarce, Director for OED. “Grocery stores and food businesses are often the anchor that attracts other small businesses and entrepreneurs to take a chance and open nearby. This kind of collaboration boosts economic activity for all neighborhood businesses and lifts everyone up at the same time.”

OED is finalizing details about contracting, cohort selection, and distribution of funding for the new grocery storefront security grants. More announcements will be made in the months to come.

What People Are Saying

Councilmember Rob Saka, District 1
“Reliable access to healthy and affordable food is critical for safe, healthy, and vibrant neighborhoods. For too long, residents in communities like Delridge, South Park, Georgetown, and others have had to travel long distances just to buy groceries. This is an inequity that has limited families’ ability to plan their weekly shopping and meet their basic needs. This new investment, driven directly by a Council budget action that I supported, represents a bold and tangible step toward closing that gap. This is an immediate and actionable way to address food deserts by helping attract grocery stores and expand access to fresh, affordable food in the neighborhoods that need it most. I look forward to continuing this work and ensuring that every community has the reliable food access it deserves”

Councilmember Alexis Mercedes Rinck, Citywide
“Every neighborhood should have a small independent grocery store that knows what its neighbors love and keeps it on the shelf. Every community deserves a store that carries the one thing you can’t get outside the old country. Investing in these stores is how we show up for the small businesses that keep us fed and make it feel like we all have a place at the table.”

Detective Josh Velliquette, General Investigations Unit – Retail Theft, Seattle Police Department
“Grocery stores are among the most open and high-traffic retail environments in the city, serving thousands of customers every single day. They are intentionally built to be accessible, with locations in convenient arterials and designed with multiple entry and exit points to make it easy for residents to access food and other goods. Unfortunately, this approach also creates potential security vulnerabilities for retail theft, which impacts the well-being of customers and staff and strains businesses financially. The Seattle Police Department is looking forward to working with the Office of Economic Development and grocery retailers to make shopping for groceries safer and help reduce retail crime citywide.“

John Ross, President & CEO at IGA
“IGA has supported independent grocers for 100 years. Our partnership with the City of Atlanta, Invest Atlanta, and Savi Provisions to launch Azalea Fresh Market showed what public/private partnerships can do to improve community food access. Now, we’re bringing this expertise to our partnership with Seattle by first pairing technical assistance with market analysis to help a ten-store cohort of independent grocers stabilize and grow, then identifying market opportunities to attract new grocers to underserved areas. We’re excited to help strengthen the Seattle independent grocer community while ensuring that fresh, healthy food is within reach of all Seattle residents. “

Huawei Introduces OceanStor M900 Context Memory Storage to Accelerate AI Inference in Hyperscale Data Centers

SHANGHAI, Sept. 17, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — At HUAWEI CONNECT 2026, David Wang, Deputy Chairman of the Board and Rotating Chairman at Huawei, officially introduced OceanStor M900 Context Memory Storage during his keynote. Designed for AI inference in hyperscale data centers, the product provides SuperPoDs with a fully shared memory space that offers PB-scale capacity and TB/s-level performance. This marks a shift in AI infrastructure from a compute-centric model to deep collaboration among compute, network, and storage. This will help unleash the computing power of SuperPoDs.

2026 has seen the accelerated transition of AI from technological breakthroughs to large-scale implementation. AI applications have evolved from chatbots to agents capable of autonomously completing complex tasks. These agents are widely adopted in critical sectors, marking the beginning of the agentic AI era.

As large models grow to 10 trillion-scale parameters, SuperPoDs are becoming the optimal choice for AI infrastructure. Mainstream large models already support context windows exceeding one million tokens, multi-turn inference and complex tasks have become the norm, and KV cache data generated during inference continues to grow. These trends have pushed on-chip memory and DRAM beyond their limits in capacity and cost-effectiveness. It has become an industry consensus to build a multi-tier storage system that coordinates on-chip memory, DRAM, and SSDs to create a fully shared memory space with massive capacity.

Huawei introduced OceanStor M900 Context Memory Storage to overcome the memory capacity bottlenecks in ultra-long context and multi-turn inference. OceanStor M900 uses the UnifiedBus network to build PB-scale, global multi-tier KV cache with one-hop connections. This fully unleashes the computing power potential of SuperPoDs and accelerates AI inference in hyperscale data centers. OceanStor M900 Context Memory Storage has three key capabilities:

Breaking Capacity Boundaries to Empower Large-Scale AI with Massive Memory

Powered by the high-speed UnifiedBus interconnect network, the KV cache achieves global pooling and sharing with tiered storage. The KV cache of SuperPoDs is expanded from on-chip memory and DRAM to SSDs, enabling a single cluster to deliver 64 PB of capacity. The available KV cache capacity per NPU is upgraded from gigabytes to terabytes, allowing more context to be stored, shared, and reused. This significantly boosts the KV cache hit ratio.

Boosting Inference Performance to Fully Unleash Computing Power

OceanStor M900 is the industry’s first architecture to integrate the CPU, network controller unit, and NAND controller unit. It provides native KV semantics to enable one-hop connection from the SuperPoD’s NPU to SSDs. This eliminates the need for protocol conversion and CPU forwarding, slashing access latency from milliseconds to 60 microseconds, a 90% reduction. A single cluster delivers 40 TB/s of aggregate access bandwidth, 1.5 times higher than peer solutions. In typical AI programming scenarios, this architecture doubles the inference cluster’s token throughput and halves the time to first token, converting computing power into productivity.

Lowering Token Costs to Enable  Economical Large-Scale AI Adoption

OceanStor M900 uses the industry’s first KV-aware adaptive storage technology, which predicts KV cache lifecycles based on data value and intelligently distributes data across storage media. This technology enables up to 24 drive writes per day (DWPD), extending SSD endurance by 16 times and ensuring stability for three years. By reducing media replacement and O&M costs, it lowers the long-term costs of large-scale AI inference infrastructure and enables faster AI adoption.

As AI expands into major production systems in all manner of industries, AI infrastructure is evolving from a compute-centric model toward tighter compute-network-storage collaboration. Context memory storage will be essential for continually enhancing the capacity and access efficiency of hyperscale inference KV caches.

Jeanologia shows that sustainability and business can drive progress together

Valencia (17 September 2026).At Jeanologia, sustainability and business are part of the same strategy. For more than 30 years, the company has been developing technologies to reduce the environmental impact of the textile industry while progressively embedding environmental and social criteria into the way it operates. Its Sustainability Report 2025 sets out the results of these efforts and the priorities that will shape the company’s next steps.

“Sustainability is not a destination or a department. It is a way of thinking, creating and acting. Real transformation only happens when sustainability and business progress together,” says Enrique Silla, founder and CEO of Jeanologia.

People and planet come first

This approach is built around a principle that the company sums up as “People and planet come first”. From an environmental perspective, this means taking on a dual responsibility: reducing the impact of its own operations while using innovation to help transform a resource-intensive textile industry.

In 2025, Jeanologia reduced its carbon footprint by 13.64%, bringing it down to 773.57 tonnes of CO equivalent, compared with 895.79 tonnes the previous year. But its contribution extends far beyond its own operations. The use of Jeanologia technologies in factories around the world prevented 21.52 million m³ of water from being polluted and 103.53 million kg of COfrom being emitted compared with traditional textile finishing processes.

The link between sustainability and business is also reflected in Jeanologia’s first voluntary assessment of its activities against the EU Taxonomy. A total of 96.37% of its turnover, 84.43% of its CapEx and 34.96% of its OpEx are associated with activities aligned with this framework, primarily through their contribution to climate change mitigation and adaptation, as well as the transition to a circular economy.

Jeanologia’s social responsibility also extends to people and the communities where it operates. Rather than focusing on one-off initiatives, the company supports social projects over the long term, building lasting relationships with the organisations it works with and applying the same philosophy of creating positive, lasting impact.

This vision is also reflected in Jeanologia’s commitment to the United Nations Global Compact, which it joined in 2019, and its principles on human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption, alongside its contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Measuring to keep improving

Measurement is another key part of Jeanologia’s strategy: what cannot be measured cannot be improved.

In 2017, the company published its first Sustainability Report and pioneered an Environmental Profit and Loss Account to quantify the water savings and reductions in CO emissions achieved using its technologies. In 2019, it created a cross-functional Sustainability Committee and, in 2022, professionalised its reporting process in line with United Nations principles and GRI Standards.

The Sustainability Report 2025 marks another step in this journey, setting out priorities to improve the quality, consistency and traceability of emissions measurement, further reduce the company’s operational impact, progressively increase visibility across its value chain and strengthen its resilience to climate change.

Jeanologia also aims to extend this same culture of measurement across the textile industry through EIM (Environmental Impact Measuring), the methodology it developed to measure the impact of textile processes objectively and consistently, giving brands and manufacturers a common framework to measure, compare and improve their performance.

In 2025, Jeanologia published its second EIM report, based on more than 100,000 real-world processes from 359 manufacturers across more than 40 countries. The scale of the sample provides a data-driven picture of the environmental impact of the global denim industry. Jeanologia continues to strengthen EIM as an independent unit, allocating more resources to the development of what has become a global benchmark for measuring the industry’s environmental impact.

The Sustainability Report 2025 is therefore more than a review of what has been achieved. It also sets out a roadmap for the future, reflecting an approach to business in which commercial success, people and the planet are part of the same commitment: to measure, improve and create positive impact.

Jeanologia: more than 30 years leading the transformation of the textile industry

Since its founding, Jeanologia has been on a mission to transform the textile industry into a more ethical, sustainable, and efficient model. The company works closely with brands, retailers, and suppliers on this transformative journey, offering disruptive technologies, innovative software, and a new operational model. Their groundbreaking solutions, including laser technology, G2 ozone, Dancing Box, e-flow, H2Zero, and ColorBox, have redefined garment design and finishing standards, eliminating polluting processes and significantly reducing the use of water, energy, and chemicals. Thanks to these advancements, Jeanologia has saved millions of liters of water and eliminated harmful substances, turning its vision of a truly sustainable textile industry into reality.

From the introduction of its laser technology in 1999, which revolutionized denim finishing, to its sustainable dyeing process, and most recently its AI applied to finishing design, the Spanish company has consistently pioneered solutions that not only benefit the environment but also optimize operational costs. Looking ahead, Jeanologia remains committed to creating an eco-efficient and ethical textile future, encouraging all industry stakeholders to join its Mission Zero initiative: dehydrate and detoxify the textile industry. No more water and toxic chemicals used in garment finishing around the world.

Every day, digital forensics and investigative professionals use Cellebrite technology to uncover insights, advance investigations and help make their communities safer. The 101 is designed to help them get more from Cellebrite’s solutions, its experts and each other, so they can reach those outcomes even faster. Customers can join sub-communities based on products and experience, participate in discussions, share best practices and access resources and technical updates relevant to their work.

“When I finished my own digital forensics training, I went straight into a difficult case and while I had the basics, I had no easy way to build a network or even connect with someone who had seen it before,” said Jared Barnhart, who leads Cellebrite’s Global Customer Engagement Team. “The 101 is the solution I wish I’d had: an always-on place to ask questions, stay curious and get answers from Cellebrite experts and practitioners across the world. We have expanded and enhanced the 101 so our user community can learn together, and we’re inviting every customer to explore it, share their knowledge and help it grow.”

“Every customer relationship we have starts with a shared mission: helping them find the truth faster so they can keep their communities safe,” said Marcus Jewell, chief revenue officer, Cellebrite. “The 101 puts that mission into practice every day, giving customers a direct line to our experts and to one another. When our customers succeed, we succeed — and this community is one of the clearest ways we can support them.”

Feedback from customers who have recently visited The 101 describe it as a natural extension of the trust-but-verify mindset central to digital forensics and investigative work. The community is getting praise for its focused discussion threads, ease of use in tracking questions and one’s own contributions and the sub-communities for investigators, newcomers and practitioners exploring how AI fits into their workflow.

Cellebrite customers can explore The 101 by logging in through MyCellebrite. Following an in-person celebratory launch with local customers at Cellebrite’s U.S. Headquarters on September 16, 2026, The 101 Community members can look forward to the ultimate networking and peer connection event at the annual Global C2C User Summit, taking place April 12-16, 2027 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas.
