Lucknow, Jan 8: Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow successfully concluded MASHAAL 6.0 – IGNITE · IMPACT · INSPIRE, its two-day annual sports fest, celebrating sportsmanship, resilience, and competitive excellence on campus.

The fest opened with an energetic inaugural ceremony on January 7, graced by Dr. Kavita Pathak, Director; Dr. Rashmi Chaudhary, Dean – Student Affairs; and Dr. Hemendra Gupta, Chairperson – Sports & Wellness Committee. Their presence underscored the vital role of sports in nurturing discipline, leadership, mental strength, and resilience among students.
A defining moment of the inauguration was the ceremonial Mashaal Run, symbolising unity, perseverance, and the enduring sporting spirit of the institute. With the lighting of the Mashaal, MASHAAL 6.0 was officially declared open, setting the tone for two days of high-energy sporting action.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Kavita Pathak said,
“Sports are a way of life. They teach individuals to accept failure, rise with determination, and build resilience and agility—qualities essential for both personal and professional growth.” She also highlighted the importance of sports in supporting mental well-being and encouraged students to integrate physical activity into their daily routines.
MASHAAL 6.0 witnessed enthusiastic participation from nearly 400 students representing over 20 colleges across the region, creating a vibrant and competitive atmosphere. Participating institutions included University of Lucknow, Amity University, BBD, M.C. Saxena College, Integral University, City Law College, IMRT, SMRCEM, KGMU, KKC, Sardar Bhagat Singh College, National PG College, SMS, Nav Yug Kanya Degree College, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, SRMU, Dr. RML Career Medical College, Techno Group, among others.
The fest featured a well-structured mix of outdoor and indoor sporting events. Outdoor competitions included Cricket (knockout format), Basketball (men’s and women’s matches), Volleyball (best-of-three sets), and Football (league and knockout formats). Indoor events comprised Badminton (multiple categories), Table Tennis (singles and doubles), Chess (multi-round tournament), Carrom (singles and doubles), and 8 Ball Pool (individual format).
Outstanding performers were honoured with trophies, medals, and certificates, while participants were applauded for their exemplary team spirit, discipline, and commitment to fair play.
Through MASHAAL 6.0 – IGNITE · IMPACT · INSPIRE, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow reaffirmed its commitment to holistic student development by fostering teamwork, leadership, resilience, and a strong sporting ethos beyond the classroom.
