Mumbai, Nov 26 : Federal Express Corporation, the world’s largest express transportation company, and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV), a Central University established through an Act of Parliament, have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to explore opportunities for collaboration in logistics education, skill development, and industry exposure for students.

The LoI outlines potential areas of academic–industry engagement, including co-developing learning modules, real-world case studies, guest lectures, workshops, and opportunities for practical exposure to logistics operations. These exploratory discussions are aimed at supporting an ecosystem where students can gain a clearer understanding of contemporary trends, challenges, and innovations shaping the logistics sector.
“India’s logistics landscape is evolving rapidly, and the next generation of professionals will play a decisive role in how the sector grows,” said Suvendu Choudhury, vice president of India operations and planning and engineering at FedEx, Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Africa. He continued, “by integrating industry insights into formal learning, the initiative bridges the academia–industry gap and ensures students develop practical, job-ready skills for modern logistics roles.”
Prof. Manoj Choudhary (Vice-Chancellor, Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya) highlighted “The partnership between FedEx and GSV shall advance the field of logistics and supply chain through digitalization and advanced technology integration. The focus on skilling and human resource development shall catalyze the entire Logistics Industry”. The LoI reflects the ongoing interest of FedEx in supporting India’s skill development ecosystem through knowledge-sharing and experiential exposure. Past initiatives such as the established with IIT Madras and IIT Bombay, and for young professionals, demonstrate the company’s continued commitment to strengthening logistics capabilities across the country.
