Puri Srimandir Enters Quiet Phase as Holy Trinity Begins Anasara

Puri Srimandir Enters Quiet Phase as Holy Trinity Begins Anasara

Following the grand Snana Purnima ritual at the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, Lord Jagannath along with Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra has entered the traditional Anasara period, a 15-day ceremonial seclusion believed to be the deities’ recovery phase after the sacred bath.

During this period, the deities are kept inside the Anasara Ghara, a restricted chamber within the temple, and are not available for public darshan. Devotees instead offer prayers to Anasara Pata, painted representations of the Holy Trinity.

Sacred Seclusion and Healing Rituals

According to tradition, the deities are considered to be in a state of “divine fever” following the Snana Purnima ritual. During Anasara, exclusive servitors including the Daitapatis perform age-old healing rituals using herbal preparations and sacred offerings.

The sanctum remains in a solemn state, with minimal lighting and restricted ceremonial activities. The idols are adorned only with white cloth and flowers, symbolizing purity and rest.

Pati Dian Darshan During Anasara

Although direct darshan of the deities is restricted, devotees can participate in Pati Dain Darshan, where they worship painted depictions of Lord Jagannath and His siblings. This practice allows devotees to maintain spiritual connection during the seclusion period.

Special arrangements are made in and around the temple premises for devotees to offer prayers and receive blessings through these sacred representations.

Alarnath Puja at Brahmagiri

During the Anasara period, devotees also traditionally visit the Alarnath Temple in Brahmagiri, where Lord Jagannath is believed to appear in the form of Lord Alarnath (Ananta).

Thousands of devotees gather at the temple to seek blessings during this phase, as it is believed that Lord Jagannath grants darshan there while remaining in seclusion at Puri. The site becomes a major spiritual center during the 15-day period.

Ritual Healing and Restoration

As per temple tradition, several prescribed rituals and offerings are carried out during Anasara, including herbal treatments and sacred medicinal preparations administered by traditional servitors. These rituals are believed to restore the divine form of the deities.

The seclusion concludes with Nabajouban Darshan, when the deities are re-painted and restored for public viewing ahead of the grand Rath Yatra.

Spiritual Significance

The Anasara period is deeply symbolic in the Jagannath tradition, reflecting themes of rest, renewal, and divine cycles. It also strengthens associated pilgrimage practices such as Pati Dain Darshan and Alarnath Darshan, which together sustain continuous devotion during the temple’s brief closure to the public.

Jharkhand YouTuber Kidnapped, Murdered During Robbery in Sundargarh; Main Accused Dies While Fleeing

Sundargarh, July 1 (UDN): A suspected robbery attempt ended in the murder of a Ranchi-based YouTuber in Odisha’s Sundargarh district, while the alleged mastermind of the crime died in a road accident during an attempt to flee with the victim’s vehicle, police said on Tuesday.

The victim, identified as Shivdhan Lohar of Ranchi, had travelled to Sundargarh along with his friend, Anmol Mallick, to admit a relative to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). The two were returning home in separate vehicles late Monday night when they were reportedly targeted by three armed assailants.

According to the police, the miscreants first attempted to stop Mallick’s vehicle, but he managed to escape. They then intercepted Lohar’s car and allegedly forced him into their custody before driving towards the Hemagiri area. During an alleged attempt to rob the victim of his vehicle and valuables, a confrontation reportedly broke out, following which Lohar was fatally attacked with a sharp weapon. His body was later abandoned near a railway overbridge.

After committing the crime, the accused allegedly fled in the victim’s car. However, their escape was cut short near Bhasma when the vehicle met with a major accident. The prime accused, identified as Subhendu, died on the spot, while another suspect sustained serious injuries and was admitted to GMCH, Sundargarh. A juvenile allegedly involved in the incident has also been detained.

Sundargarh Superintendent of Police Amritpal Kaur said the preliminary investigation points to robbery as the motive behind the murder. Police have recovered evidence from the crime scene and are analysing forensic and technical inputs to reconstruct the sequence of events.

The police are also verifying the criminal background of the deceased accused, who is believed to have been involved in an earlier murder case. A detailed investigation is underway to identify the role of each accused and establish all circumstances leading to the crime.

With Mela Mexicana, we are bringing the spirit of Mexico into the heart of India’s neighbourhoods in a way only SOCIAL can: through fooddrinks, music, performance, play and community. Mexico and India share a beautiful instinct for colour, spice, street foodcelebration and togetherness. Through a curated fusion of Mexican culinary flavors, traditional music, and contemporary art, this collaboration invites Indian audiences to experience the deep cultural parallels between our two nations. Mela Mexicana is more than an event; it is a cultural dialogue uniting our people through a shared love for community, art, and food.”

A Menu That Brings Mexico to SOCIAL’s Table
The food at Mela Mexicana takes familiar Mexican formats and reimagines them with SOCIAL’s playful, flavour-first lens. The menu moves from crunchy, snackable small plates to loaded tacos, cheesy quesadillas, empanadas, burritos, chimichangas, tortas and desserts.

Guests can begin with the classic Guac ’n’ Roll Chips, served in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian versions, or try Nacho Average Love Triangle, a colourful trio of pink, green and black nachos with salsa. Corn Chivda Chaat brings together corn flakes, pico, salsa macha and Mexican nuts, while Gajar Tinga Tostada gives the idea of gajar ka halwa a savoury, Mexican-inspired twist. The Chicken Tikka Tinga Tostada brings together the comfort of tikka with the crunch of a tostada, while Chilli Chipotle Aloo and Chilli Chipotle Chicken add a smoky chipotle kick to familiar favourites.

There is plenty of cheese, crunch and comfort through Queso FundidoMushroom EmpanadasChicken Tinga EmpanadasCheesy Mushroom Quesadilla and Cheesy Chicken Quesadilla. The taco line-up brings together Baja-O-Mushroom TacoAl Pastor Chicken TacoTaco ’Bout Fish and Mutton Seekh Taco, each built to be messy, punchy and full of character.

For heartier cravings, the menu features Dry Noods aka Fideos SecosBurrito and a BowlChipotle Mushroom ChimichangaBarbacoa Chicken ChimichangaBirria Sando and Chicken Barbacoa Torta. The desserts close the meal on a sweet note with Concha French Toast, made with traditional Mexican sweet bread, and The Impossible Cake, a rich chocolate cake layered with creamy flan.

Chef Shamsul Wahid, Group Executive Chef, Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., and Chef Ashish Sharma Diaz Del Castillo said, “Mexican food and Indian food share a natural connection, both are generous, layered, spice-led and built around the joy of eating together,” said Chef Shamsul Wahid. “With Mela Mexicana, we wanted to honour that shared spirit through familiar Mexican formats, while giving the menu a SOCIAL twist with flavours like tikka, seekh, chivda, gajar and nihari, so every dish feels festive, rooted and full of character,” added Chef Ashish Sharma Diaz Del Castillo.

Drinks That Bring the Fiesta to the Bar

The bar programme has been created to match the energy of the food: bold, refreshing, spicy, tangy and built for a good time. The cocktail menu leans into tequila-led serves, fresh citrus, chilli, tamarind, pineapple, jalapeño, hibiscus, grapefruit and Mexican-inspired spice.

Guests can try the Borracho Michelada, a savoury, spicy beer cocktail with hot sauce, tajín and lime, or the Batanga, a simple, bright mix of tequila, cola, lime and salt. Hibshi Margarita brings a floral twist with hibiscus, litchi and kaffir lime, while El Tamarindo channels a desi-mexi flavour profile with smoked spicy tamarind, coriander and lime. Pineapple Jalapeño Picante brings together sweet pineapple, jalapeño, cilantro and brine, while Cantarito layers citrus and beer into a refreshing festival serve.

For cooler monsoon evenings, Mexican Spiced Hot Chocolate adds a warm, spiked, chilli-kissed finish to the drinks line-up. The festival also includes zero-proof serves such as Not a Paloma, with lime and grapefruit soda, and Tamarind Ginger Smash, a sweet, tangy imli drink with a sharp ginger kick. For guests looking to keep the table energy high, shot serves such as La Roja and Jose Hot bring sweet, spicy and citrus-led flavours into the mix.

The Festival Comes Alive Beyond the Menu

Mela Mexicana is also built around SOCIAL’s community ecosystem, with programming that turns outlets into spaces of play, performance and participation through the month.

One of the highlight formats is Telenovela Table Read, an interactive improv-led game night where guests become characters in an over-the-top soap opera universe inspired by Mexican telenovelas and iconic Indian television drama. Participants are given character roles, secret objectives, mandatory keywords and sudden plot twists, creating a night of dramatic reveals, chaotic performances and full commitment to the bit.

Another key experience is Bingo Beats Club: Mela Mexicana Edition, inspired by Lotería, Mexico’s iconic illustrated picture-card game. SOCIAL’s version turns it into a music-led, high-energy game night with custom cards inspired by Mexican culture, Indian culture, internet behaviour, nightlife and everyday guest moments. Instead of numbers, guests mark illustrated symbols announced through clues, riddles and humour, with music breaks and participation moments woven through the evening.

The programming calendar will also feature salsa-led evenings, Mexican-inspired workshops, themed community events and live music. As part of the festival, SOCIAL will host Abakorao, a New Delhi-based Latin band led by Colombian musician Santiago Ramírez, bringing styles such as salsa, merengue, bachata, son, reggaetón and cumbia to the Mela Mexicana experience in select SOCIAL outlets.

A Month-Long Takeover Across India

From the food on the table and the drinks at the bar to the décor on the walls, the music in the room and the games guests play together, Mela Mexicana has been designed as a festival that lives across every SOCIAL touchpoint. It brings together culture, cuisine, performance, nightlife and community in a way that is immersive, visual and made for discovery.

Mela Mexicana will be live across all SOCIAL outlets in India from 1st July to 31st July 2026.

Archer® Proves Purpose-Built AI Beats General-Purpose LLMs on Regulatory Change Management: 95% Verified Accuracy, 80x Faster, 92% Lower Cost

Archer® Proves Purpose-Built AI Beats General-Purpose LLMs on Regulatory Change Management: 95% Verified Accuracy, 80x Faster, 92% Lower Cost

Business Wire India

For enterprises deploying AI in compliance, a wrong date is a missed deadline. The more dangerous failure is a wrong answer the model returns with high confidence, one that flows silently into a compliance calendar and is only discovered after the window has passed. Archer® today released results showing purpose-built AI beats a general-purpose large language model (LLM) on regulatory work, and it’s not close. This head-to-head test compared Archer’s purpose-built, vertical-specific AI and proprietary data sets against a leading general-purpose LLM, on a core compliance task: determining the publication, effective and comment-close dates of regulatory documents across six jurisdictions.

General-purpose models are a genuine breakthrough, and this is no referendum on their quality. The question Archer set out to answer is narrower and more practical: what it takes to make a specific, high-stakes determination reliable, fast and affordable at scale. A vertical, domain-focused process, grounded in an expert-verified knowledge base, wins on all three at once.

Accuracy: 90% fewer wrong answers

On the same 55 documents, the general-purpose LLM was wrong 56% of the time. Confidence made it worse, not better. Of the answers it rated high confidence, 35% were still wrong. With Archer Evolv, more than 95% of determinations are verified outright, and the rest are routed to an expert before use. Not a single wrong date reached production. Nothing ships unverified.

31%

A model’s own confidence is not a control. Of the answers the general purpose LLM rated high confidence, 35% were wrong. That accuracy gap is the precondition for deploying agentic AI responsibly, because an autonomous operator is only as trustworthy as the determinations beneath it. Verified, source-traceable, expert-governed answers make it possible to safely deploy AI agents across an enterprise. This is the core of AI governance, and the layer Archer is built to provide.

“In compliance, an answer that is fast and cheap, but wrong, is worthless, and an answer you cannot trace is a liability,” said Kayvan Alikhani, Chief Product and Technology Officer of Archer. “Archer’s purpose-built AI verified more than 95% of determinations in real time. That is the foundation that lets enterprises scale AI agents without losing control of the outcome.”

Speed: verified answers in real time

Per request, the general-purpose process averaged about four seconds per response within a five-second timeout. Archer Evolv served a verified date in roughly five-hundredths of a second, about 80 times faster on repeat lookups. For AI agents and analysts working at the pace of a regulatory calendar, that is the difference between keeping up and becoming the bottleneck.

Cost: a persistent, verified knowledge base, not on-demand inference

A general-purpose process recomputes the answer on every request, with no memory of what it found before. Archer Evolv computes once at ingestion, verifies the result into a scalable, expert-governed knowledge base, and persists it for every future lookup at a fraction of the cost and latency. When a regulation is amended, Evolv catches the change proactively, re-verifies, and versions the updated answer. Nothing served is ever stale. For a 500-document corpus with 12 lookups each per month, that is 6,000 determinations against only 500. Archer Evolv avoids roughly 92% of the inference calls, a structural saving that widens as volume grows.

Context is what makes this possible

Archer Evolv’s advantage traces to context: before any AI runs, it assesses the organization’s jurisdictions, products, business units, risks and regulatory themes, so every determination is grounded in what is relevant to that enterprise. This is the difference between an answer and a defensible answer. The more agents a company deploys, the more valuable that foundation becomes, because every agent inherits the same verified, source-traceable grounding rather than re-deriving the world from scratch.

“The companies that win the next decade of SaaS will pair domain-specific AI with proprietary, vertical-specific context the foundation models cannot replicate,” said Bill Diaz, Chief Executive Officer of Archer. “That is the moat, and it compounds. This test is the proof.”
