Hungama, Bhamla Foundation & BMC Launch Tik Tik Plastic 3.0 Campaign

National, 2nd June 2025: Continuing its endeavour to drive thought-provoking conversations around environmental conservation, Hungama Digital Media, in association with the Bhamla Foundation and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), launched the third edition of the impactful green initiative — Tik Tik Plastic 3.0. The campaign was unveiled at a live press conference in Mumbai, which was marked by the esteemed presence of Ajay Devgn, Rohit Shetty, Sharvari Wagh, Imtiaz Ali, Bhushan Gagrani, Asif Bhamla, and Neeraj Roy.  This year, the initiative brings together a formidable creative force to spotlight the devastating effects of plastic pollution through a hard-hitting short film anchored in the official theme — #BeatPlasticPollution, which was also launched at the event.

The first film, titled Earthing’, stars Ajay along with Sharvari, while the second one, ‘Pyasa’, features Ajay Devgn in a solo role. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, both short films aim to spark dialogue, encourage behavioural change, and catalyse meaningful climate-conscious action. As the official digital partner of Tik Tik Plastic 3.0, Hungama Digital Media will distribute the films across various digital platforms.

This edition of the campaign is also supported by partners including Godrej Industries Group and Ravin Group, whose commitment to environmental sustainability has been instrumental in expanding the impact of this movement

Bhushan Gagrani, Municipal Commissioner of BMC, highlighted the need for community involvement and said, “This campaign exemplifies the power of collaboration between public institutions, private enterprises, and international organizations like UNEP to address urgent environmental challenges. Mumbai generates a significant portion of plastic waste annually and managing this requires active community participation. By promoting awareness and encouraging eco-friendly habits, we can reduce plastic usage and protect our soil, plants, and environment. Together, through initiatives like this, we can build a cleaner, greener Mumbai that sets an example for cities across India and the world.”

Ashish Shelar, Minister of Cultural Affairs, Maharashtra, said, “The Bhamla Foundation continues to champion environmental causes in impactful and innovative ways. I congratulate the entire team for their tireless efforts — from securing CSR funds to organizing beach clean-ups and launching initiatives for students. The BMC is committed to supporting and advancing such meaningful work. The concept of ‘Earthing’, along with its music, storytelling, and message, must resonate across the nation. We also aim to create more open spaces in Mumbai that can serve as the city’s lungs, contributing to a healthier, greener future.”

Commenting on his association, Ajay Devgn, Bollywood actor and Global Ambassador of World Environment Day 2025, said “The environment is not just a global concern; it’s a personal responsibility that affects every individual. I chose to be part of this campaign because it emphasizes simple yet powerful actions we can take to protect our planet. Initiatives like eliminating plastic from our daily lives are essential steps toward a cleaner and greener future. By addressing pressing issues like plastic pollution, we can collectively strive to beat plastic pollution and create a sustainable world. I firmly believe that collective action can lead to meaningful change, and I’m honored to lend my voice to this vital movement.”

Asif Bhamla, Chairman of the Bhamla Foundation, called for actionable change and mentioned, “Driving actionable change requires mobilizing entire communities, and public-private partnerships like our collaboration with BMC and Godrej Industries Group are key to making a real difference. While behavior change remains a challenge in our country, simple communication paired with effective calls to action can truly land the message. For example, replacing single-use plastic bottles with sustainable alternatives and protecting soil, plants, and the broader environment are small but vital solutions that together help restore balance and sustain life on Earth. Through these films, we aim to revive sustainable lifestyles and inspire a collective shift toward environmental balance.”

Sharing his views on this year’s campaign, Neeraj Roy, Founder & Managing Director, Hungama Digital Media, said, “We are proud to continue our partnership with the Bhamla Foundation for Tik Tik Plastic 3.0. With Imtiaz Ali’s compelling storytelling and the involvement of celebrated actors like Ajay Devgn and Sharvari, we believe this campaign serves as a powerful call to action. By leveraging digital reach and cinematic influence, our goal is not only to raise awareness but also to inspire behavioural change that contributes to a more sustainable future.”

Following the film releases, Tik Tik Plastic 3.0 will roll out a series of impactful on-ground initiatives to promote sustainable living. These include afforestation drives, composting workshops, beach clean-up events, a green cyclothon to advocate land restoration, and awareness installations across Mumbai. The campaign will also extend to educational institutions and key stakeholders such as UNEP India, MCGM, and MoEFCC, reinforcing the message of conservation and community action beyond World Environment Day.

India’s FY25 GDP Grows 6.5% on Strong Q4 and Rural Rebound

ByMahendra PatilFounder and Managing PartnerMP Financial Advisory Services LLP

“India’s FY25 GDP growth of 6.5%, backed by a strong Q4 print of 7.4%, marks a shift from post-pandemic rebound to a more calibrated and stable expansion path. While slightly lower than FY2024’s 8.2%, this growth comes with better inflation alignment and strong rural resurgence. A favourable monsoon, controlled inflation, and continued capex have supported broad-based momentum. As we enter FY26, the policy priority must shift to reviving manufacturing, formalising employment, and boosting private investment to sustain the growth trajectory”

These Ayurvedic acne relief capsules are specially crafted for women struggling with acne and pimples, offering a gentle yet powerful approach to clearer skin.

Girlyveda Launches ‘Acne Slash’ – Ayurvedic Acne Relief Capsules for Women

Acne Slash is a plant-powered blend of time-tested herbs known to work from within the body to target the root causes of acne. With ingredients like Shudh GandhakNeemChiraytaRevand ChinniHaritaki, and Kali Mirch, the formulation goes beyond surface-level solutions. It works holistically to detoxify the body, support digestion, calm inflammation, and eliminate acne-causing bacteria—all of which play a vital role in achieving healthy, blemish-free skin.

Speaking on the launch, Danny Kumar Meena, Founder of Girlyveda, said: “With Acne Slash, our goal was to create something truly effective, yet rooted in the purity of Ayurveda. So many women silently struggle with acne, often resorting to harsh chemicals that do more harm than good. Acne Slash is our gentle promise to them—it works from within, using nature’s wisdom to restore balance, boost skin health, and uplift confidence.”

These capsules fight acne and pimples from the root by promoting internal detoxification and hormonal balance. They gently exfoliate the skin by aiding the natural removal of dead skin cells, which helps prevent pore blockage and future breakouts. Acne Slash also supports faster wound healing and skin repair, helping the skin recover from existing acne scars and blemishes. The result is skin that feels cleaner, clearer, and more confident.

Acne remains a persistent concern for women in India, especially among teenagers, young adults, and those dealing with adult female acne. With lifestyle changes, stress, hormonal fluctuations, and diet all contributing to the problem, Girlyveda’s Acne Slash offers a well-rounded Ayurvedic response that aligns the body from within to improve skin health naturally.

Each herb in Acne Slash has been carefully selected for its specific benefits. Shudh Gandhak purifies the blood and helps cleanse the skin from within, making it harder for acne to take hold. Chirayta helps calm internal heat and inflammation that often triggers pimples. Neem acts as a natural antibacterial agent, targeting acne-causing bacteria and promoting a fresh, clean feeling. Revand Chinni supports healthy digestion because Ayurvedic tradition believes that a clean gut is key to clear skin. Haritaki aids in flushing out toxins while supporting skin health and balance. Kali Mirch plays a vital role in improving the body’s ability to absorb all the nutrients and healing properties of the other herbs.

Girlyveda is known for its completely organic approach, using Ayurvedic formulations free from harmful chemicals like formaldehyde, phthalates, or PFAS. Free Lung Cancer Screening by HCG Cancer Centre Highlights Awareness on No Tobacco Day 2025

HCG Cancer Centre Marks World No Tobacco Day 2025 with Free Lung Cancer Screening DriveBangalore, June 02nd, 2025: Marking “World No Tobacco Day”, HCG Cancer Centre, Bangalore, successfully conducted a Free Lung Cancer Screening Camp for Traffic Police and the General Public. The initiative saw active participation from healthcare professionals, members of the public and traffic police, aiming to promote early detection and encourage tobacco cessation through timely intervention.

The event welcomed individuals with a history of smoking for five years or more, offering them a comprehensive screening package. This included a free consultation with both a Medical Oncologist and an Interventional Pulmonologist, an oral examination conducted by a Head and Neck Surgeon, and a low-dose CT scan of the chest, if medically indicated.

The HCG initiative focused on the urgent need for early diagnosis, especially since an estimated 7 out of 10 lung cancer cases are linked to tobacco use. By identifying potential risks early, HCG hopes to empower individuals to take proactive steps towards ensuring their health and quality of life.

Ms Manisha Kumar, Regional Business Head Karnataka, Healthcare Global Enterprises, said, “At HCG Cancer Centre, our approach goes beyond cancer treatment as we are deeply invested in prevention. By promoting regular screenings and creating awareness about tobacco’s devastating impact, we aim to reduce the voluminous incidence of preventable cancers. Public health initiatives that are rooted in communities constitute the best path to lasting change in common perceptions about both health and disease. Knowledge empowers people to voluntarily make healthier choices.”

Dr. Roshini Dasgupta, Consultant – Medical Oncology, HCG Cancer Centre, said, “Cigarette smoke contains a mix of toxins that can damage almost every organ in the body, and confirms the undeniable link between tobacco and cancer. Since awareness levels remain alarmingly low in many parts of the country; our goal, as healthcare providers, is not only to treat the disease but to prevent, or arrest it, through education and timely screening; considering that even occasional tobacco use can trigger dangerous outcomes.”

The camp was amply supported by Dr. Shalini Thakur, Consultant – Head & Neck Surgery, Dr. Mallikarjun, Consultant – Interventional Pulmonology, and Dr. Shivkumar Swamy, Consultant – Onco-Radiology, all of whom were present on-site, to evaluate and counsel the participants.

The screening camp and street awareness initiative together reinforced HCG’s commitment to cancer prevention, community engagement, and result-oriented, timely intervention.
