Brainly Survey: 71% of students are comfortable with self-tutoring via online learning platforms

Mumbai, January 03, 2022: As we step into the new year, Brainly, the online learning platform where over 350 million students and parents go from questioning to understanding, conducted a survey to understand student’s sentiments around the current learning environment after months of navigating the study-from-home landscape. Collecting 1,751 responses in total, the survey maps several interesting trends from 2021 and projections for 2022. The top three trends highlighted by the survey include:

A majority of students would prefer self-tutoring through online learning platforms

After almost two academic years spent learning from home, students and teachers have both seen significant merit in using online learning platforms. The survey found that over 71% of the students are comfortable with self-tutoring through online learning platforms. Thishighlights the role of online learning platforms in promoting independent learning among students.

The survey also revealed that more than half (56%) of the students took private tuitions during the lockdown period. Personalised, one-on-one learning is, therefore, considered an effective learning method.

Students were expecting schools to reopen in 2021

On being asked if they were expecting physical schools to reopen in 2021, almost 85% of students responded in the affirmative. While Indian students have adapted to the COVID-19-induced online learning model, most of them were waiting eagerly to meet their peers and teachers face to face.

As the partial reopening of schools was greenlit in the latter half of 2021, a chunk of the students attended physical schools. As such, 64% of the students claimed that their performance was affected by the reopening of schools while 68% saw a major difference in their teacher’s teaching method between 2020 and 2021.

A previous Brainly survey also found that 82% of the students were excited to return to brick-and-mortar schools. As India looks at vaccinations for children over 15, 2022 may see more schools reopen their gates to students.

Indian students want the hybrid model of teaching to continue in 2022

Students have not just adapted to online platforms but also thrived within this medium. This reflects in the survey results as over 78% of the students claimed they performed well in 2021. In a previous survey, the platform found that 77% of students would continue to seek assistance from online learning platforms even after their schools reopened. This is further solidified as 71% of the students would like to continue learning through the hybrid model in 2022.

Speaking on the survey results, Rajesh Bysani, Chief Product Officer at Brainly, commented, “Students are eager to join their peers and teachers in physical schools, they have also developed a positive relationship with online learning methodologies. With students’ academic performance displaying encouraging trends, the survey findings are aligned with Brainly’s belief that hybrid learning, with the best of tech-led tools and personalised attention, will dominate the education landscape in 2022 and beyond.”

Mumbai, 3rd January 2022: Fino Payments Bank (BSE: 543386; NSE: FINOPB) (“Fino Bank” or “the Bank” or “Fintech) has received the RBI approval for commencing International Remittance business under the Money Transfer Service Scheme (MTSS). The Bank will be undertaking inward cross-border money transfer activities in association with an Overseas Principal, the details of which are being worked out.

According to a recent World Bank release in November 2021, India is expected to be the largest recipient of remittances globally in 2021 with expected receipt of USD 87 billion. This is expected to grow by 3% in 2022 to USD 89.6 billion as a large number of workers are expected to return to the gulf countries.

The customer segment of Fino Bank at the middle of the pyramid is targeted to families of many of the people working in foreign countries. Fino merchants provide services such as new account opening, cash deposit, money transfer, cash withdrawal via micro-ATMs or AEPS mechanisms, collect cash on behalf of various institutional clients among others. As a new offering International Remittance will help augment income of merchants and the Bank leading to strengthening of Fino’s robust distribution network.

“There is a major inward remittance corridor in states like Gujarat, Punjab, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. We already have scaled up our merchant presence in all these geographies. We are therefore confident that the new offering will gain traction very quickly. The Bank also has plans to commence outward remittance services soon. As part of this initiative, Snapdeal will utilise its digital presence including website, mobile application, and social media accounts to increase awareness about the scheme and provide information on how users can create their own Health ID.

The Health ID project by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) is part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) that aims to develop the backbone necessary to build an integrated digital health infrastructure in the country. The digital health records will allow users to access & share their medical records, in a paperless manner, all the way from admission to discharge. A unique 14-digit Health ID will be issued to each user on a voluntary basis.

The health ID can be easily created by using an individual’s basic details, mobile number and Aadhaar number. The health records can be further linked and viewed through a mobile application. The “Health ID” will allow users to connect with different healthcare providers across the ABDM ecosystem by enabling a consent-based sharing of personal health records.

Snapdeal to promote National Health Authority’s “National Health ID” Scheme

The pandemic has highlighted the importance of having all the health related data of an individual in one place which helps in making the healthcare process much efficient and quick, empowering the medical professionals to provide a higher level of care with all the information in hand.

As part of this initiative, Snapdeal is initially running a series of banners to provide information about the benefits of the scheme and providing a link to NHA’s page where they can generate their Health ID. The information will also be shared through Snapdeal’s social media properties in English, Hindi and in other Indian languages.

Speaking on this, Rajnish Wahi, Senior Vice President, Snapdeal said “In an increasingly digital world, easy access to digital health records will be of immense use to citizens, especially as they move beyond primary healthcare to other health services. We believe that this initiative will serve Bharat well and will equip users in smaller cities to connect with digital health solutions from across the country. We are proud to extend our support to NHA’s efforts in this regard.”

Snapdeal receives more than 86% of its orders from outside metro cities. With a large proportion of users living in smaller cities and towns, Snapdeal’s users have access to a range of regional interfaces on the app and can converse with agents in eight Indian languages, in addition to English.
