Supari Studios executes cultsport’s Smart Move digital marketing campaign

19th August 2022: The world of smart fitness devices and gadgets continues to grow with each passing day. And while it may seem overwhelming, these creations can truly up your workout game to the next level. cultsport, the smart fitness product brand, recently launched a digital campaign “MOVE”, to promote its ‘smart’ range of apparel, cycles and home equipment. Conceptualized by LEAP and executed by Supari Studios, the campaign aims to officially launch cultsport and establish it as one of the finest fitness brands in the country.

For this campaign, Supari Studios produced a unique and captivating series of 3 ad films that engage the audience with its smart visuals. The films are aspirational and high on energy, and focus on each category cultsport offers. Ranging from apparel to outdoor cycles and home workout equipment, the campaign highlights the ‘smart’ features of these products while making the audience believe why they are the better and smarter choice.

The concept for the campaign was born from the product itself. Speaking of exercising, it’s all about ‘move’ment; so whenever someone purchases a cultsport product, they are not just purchasing a fancy ‘alloy-cycle’ or a cool ‘anti-sweat T-shirt’ – which are premium top-quality products. They are essentially entering into an ecosystem, giving total access to trainers, dieticians, performance tracking software, and communities as well as the cult.fit app. The brand desires to appeal to the ‘everyday athlete’ and providing these unique features in its products can be considered a really Smart MOVE.

Through the campaign, cultsport smartly reveals the futuristic features of its fitness products and brings out the ‘feel good’ factor about them. In a way, the brand is inviting its audience to enter into a cutting-edge fitness universe allowing them studio-quality workouts and trainer interactions.

The campaign targets a broader audience segment of Gen-Z and Millennials. The content of the films adds a consumer-centric spin with a quirky undertone to promote how cultsport offers quality with innovative and smart features, enabling immersive fitness experiences.

Prachita Pujari, Brand Marketing, cure.fit mentioned, “With this campaign our goal was to launch cultsport and establish it as the number one fitness product brand with the categories its associated with and to tell people why we are the smarter choice. The 3 films focused on the 3 main sections cultsport has to offer. We are excited for everyone to see and imbibe the ‘Smart Move”

Kalpit Damania, Lead – Creative Producer from Supari Studios said “This was our third collaboration with Cult and we really wanted to nail the essence of using these products in routine life. The biggest opportunity in this series of films was the cycling film as it gave us a much bigger canvas in terms of the narrative. We looked across India for scenic locations and we landed up on the picturesque lanes of Pondicherry. It was an experience unlike no other where we turned a lot of active roads into a playground. Whether it was the use of action-oriented rigs or just trying to execute this behemoth within 3 days of the shoot while running across the city, it was super fun and a surreal experience.”

cultsport started its journey with sportswear, but gradually, it has expanded into various other categories such as – home equipment, outdoor cycles, strength equipment and nutrition to name a few. The campaign introduces cultsport as a reliable, accessible and comfortable choice for customers and is directed towards making it the ‘number one fitness product brand’, in India. It also positions the brand as one that provides the highest quality experience, rendering it the default choice for any consumer looking for a comfortable fitness product at an affordable price point.

Buying a Home During Ganesh Chaturthi – Why It Matters

– by Akash Pharande, Managing Director – Pharande Spaces

The Indian festive season is a time of a lot of investment activity, and Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the ‘prime times’ on the Indian calendar to buy a home. Is it driven purely by religious sentiment? To a large extent, the answer is in the affirmative.

But non-Indians often wonder – what guides this sentiment? Is it nothing more than signing a sales agreement on a particular day to please a god? It is much more than that.

Claiming Power

To be sure, it is every Indian family’s fondest wish to buy its own home. It is the ultimate manifestation of increased power over one’s circumstances because living on rent in somebody else’s home is anything but empowering. The yearly financial drain of rent and annual rental escalation is just one aspect of this disempowerment.

The possibility that the landlord will ask their tenants to leave, even if they pay rent regularly, always lurks in the background. He may do so for financial or any other reasons – but either way, the personal investment poured into a rented home is nullified when this happens.

We invest much more than just money into our homes. We invest emotionally in our neighbours and neighbourhoods. Humans are ultimately social beings and forge close relationships not only with people but with areas. We build our lives around the things we can do in an area – send our kids to school, access easy shopping and weekend diversion, establish comfortable commuting routines to and from work, and bank on the availability of health assistance in the nearby hospital, if required.

It is never possible to invest fully in a rented home which is, by definition, impermanent and unreliable. Breaking the bondage and uncertainty of rental living is a power move which changes everything. Choosing to buy one’s own home requires more than courage – it requires faith. While it is highly liberating, it also calls for putting up a lot of money, most of which we don’t even have as yet.

Tapping Into a Higher Power

For making any costly and life-changing investment or undertaking anything radically new, Indians who believe in him invoke Lord Ganesh. By doing so, we affirm our faith in his protection and assurance of prosperity to those who worship him.

After all, buying a home involves making a huge financial commitment through the down payment and the home loan. We do not want to do this alone.

But Ganesh Chaturthi is about more than welcoming prosperity into our lives. Lord Ganesh is also the overcomer of obstacles that can come between us and our hopes for a better future for our family. Since life can throw many types of obstacles in our path, we invoke the god who helps us avoid and overcome adversity.

Wisdom for Good Decisions

Lord Ganesh also represents great intellect and higher thinking. This also has a lot of pertinence to the act of buying the ultimate family asset. We need the wisdom and clarity of thought to choose the right home free of future heartaches. We need patience, freedom from impulsiveness, and the ability to make a well-calculated decision, so we go to the source.

Buying a home during Ganesh Chaturthi is about much more than making a major investment on an auspicious day. It is an act of great confidence based on faith. When we honour Lord Ganesh by aligning this important purchase with his festival, we make him a partner in this endeavour. We acknowledge that we have very limited power and depend on him to empower us and clear the path for us.

It is an act of faith, and faith is often the gamechanger that guides us out of indecision into making strong, confident decisions.

All Indian Cities to be SafaiMitra Surakshit by March 2024

August 2022, New Delhi: Today, Urban India has recommitted itself towards ensuring the safety, dignity, and security of all sanitation workers (SafaiMitras). For the first time, 500 cities across India have declared themselves as ‘SafaiMitra Surakshit Shehar’. In doing so, they have established that the cities are able to achieve adequacy in terms of institutional capacity, manpower and equipment norms as stipulated by MoHUA and are providing safe working conditions for SafaiMitras. The ‘SafaiMitra Surakshit Shehar’ declaration done by 500 cities aligns with Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban’s longstanding goal of promoting sustainable sanitation practices and acting as a catalyst for the transformation of every ‘manhole’ into a ‘machine hole’.

Shri. Manoj Joshi, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), and Shri. R. Subrahmanyam, Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE) jointly chaired the webinar attended by various stakeholders, in the sanitation space.

Congratulating states and cities for their efforts, Mr. Joshi and Mr. Subrahmanyam highlighted the need for all cities and States to remain committed to the cause of ‘SafaiMitra Suraksha’. To provide impetus to the ongoing efforts towards mechanization and safety of workers, both Ministries jointly launched ‘NAMASTE’ (National Action for Mechanized Sanitation Ecosystem) Scheme to enhance occupational safety, improved access to safety gears and machines, provide skilled wage opportunities, and focus on continuous capacity building while breaking the generations of drudgery enforced on manual sewer cleaners earlier.

Speaking at the virtual event, Ms. Roopa Mishra, Joint Secretary and Mission Director, Swachh Bharat Mission- Urban, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) recounted the decades-long journey that Indian cities have traversed in order to declare themselves as ‘SafaiMitra Surakshit’.

She said, “The Government is committed to ensuring ‘Zero Fatalitites in Sanitation Work’. On World Toilet Day in 2019, MoHUA launched the ‘SafaiMitra Suraksha Challenge’ through which we identified 100 Lighthouse cities that were well equipped in terms of sanitation infrastructure and facilities. MoHUA also provided a protocol for ‘SafaiMitra Surakshit Shehar’. States have set up Responsible Sanitation Authorities (RSAs) & Emergency Response Sanitation Units (ESRUs) at the district level and are now prioritizing training and capacity building of SafaiMitras. It has taken 75 years for us to come to this juncture, but any task started well is bound to achieve its goal. MoHUA is committed to ensure that all Indian cities declare themselves as ‘SafaiMitra Surkashit’ by March 2024.”

Shri. Manoj Joshi along with other dignitaries also launched three compendiums developed with support of the National Faecal Sludge and Septage Management (NFSSM) Alliance titled, ‘Lighthouse Cities: SafaiMitra Suraksha Ki Misaal’, ‘Best Practices from India Cities: SafaiMitra Suraksha aur Samman’, and ‘SafaiMitra Speak: Badlaav Ki Kahaani’.

The cities of Jamshedpur, Dewas, Tirupati, Bhubaneswar presented their experiences on making their cities ‘SafaiMitra Surakshit’. Commissioners of Municipal Corporations, along with SafaiMitras from these cities also attended the webinar. These SafaiMitras shared their on-ground experience and how working conditions have improved in their respective cities, commending their respective Municipal Corporations for creating a safe working ecosystem for the SafaiMitras.

On the occasion of World Entrepreneurs’ Day 2022, Wadhwani Foundation calls for supporting entrepreneurship in India

India, 19th August 2022 – Celebrated on the 21st of August every year, World Entrepreneurs’ Day recognizes innovation and global advancement of entrepreneurship and leadership. It is well established that high-potential entrepreneurship that drives jobs at scale is born out of a culture of innovation and risk-taking. Entrepreneurship also breeds job creators as against job seekers, a crucial and fundamental aspect of India’s economic growth.

Commenting on World Entrepreneurs’ Day, Dr Ajay Kela, President and CEO, Wadhwani Foundation, said, “Entrepreneurs are like Olympians; they go through a harrowing journey, bringing glory to their teams and country by creating wealth and jobs. On this World Entrepreneurs’ Day, we salute the entrepreneurs of the world. With digitization and globalization, entrepreneurial ecosystems are rapidly evolving. In less than a decade, India has become the leading nation for startups and entrepreneurs, having crossed the mark of 100 unicorns, with 100 more expected in the next three years. Total established and recognized startups in India stand at ~73K today. Besides India, Brazil, Mexico, Singapore, Indonesia, and others are creating thriving startup ecosystems. We are living in unprecedented times for startups. Let the force be with them to produce the jobs the world needs for its growing youth population.”

The Indian startup ecosystem skyrocketed in 2021 to become the third largest globally, with a 3x increase in total funding over 2020. However, despite a stellar show, two challenges remain predominant in the Indian startup space:

(1) Many unicorns in India lack a compelling revenue base and require an infusion of cash flow for survival.

(2) The need to accelerate their digital transformation with technology and platforms through policies and support mechanisms towards domestic capital participation, favourable investment climate in tier 2 and tier 3 cities, incentives to set up incubators in every state, tax exemptions in foreign direct investments, and a high focus on startup infrastructure.

Says Sanjay Shah, Chief Operating Officer – India/SE Asia, Wadhwani Foundation, “At Wadhwani Foundation, we strive to support entrepreneurs as they are job creators making a significant and positive impact in emerging economies. They are true game changers who constantly innovate and rise by lifting others. On the occasion of World Entrepreneurs’ Day, I urge entrepreneurs to look at emerging fields like green technology (Electric Vehicles, Wind Energy, Solar Energy, Recycling and Waste Management etc.) because apart from the obvious benefits related to sustainability, India has the potential to create 50 million jobs by 2070 by enabling a green economy.”

India, no doubt, has a rich, vibrant ecosystem of startups, both in terms of entrepreneurs and the best and brightest in the country wanting to pursue entrepreneurship. However, to mitigate the startup failure rate, Wadhwani Foundation’s advice to startups, especially in the early stages, is to spend with caution, focus on the customer and the problem that they are striving to solve, and have clear answers to these questions:

A. How does the unit economics of the solution work?
B. What does it take to produce the solution?
C. What is the customer willing to pay for that pain?
D. How large is the addressable market?

The YoY annual growth in the Indian startup ecosystem is projected at 12-15%. However, to consistently achieve this growth, the startup growth needs to be concurrent with the growth of ecosystem enablers and market catalysts like accelerators, incubators, venture capitalists, angel investors, support groups, technology corporations and mentors.
