Viacom18’s leading kids’ entertainment franchise, Nickelodeon, through its thought-provoking initiatives has successfully engaged and entertained young minds. As a pioneer in promoting the benefits of yoga amongst kids, this International Yoga Day, Nickelodeon is all set to take Yoga Day celebrations a notch higher by bringing back its flagship campaign #YogaSeHiHoga and induct thousands of kids into the blissful world of Yoga.

All kids have to do is to log on to nickindia.com and upload a photo or video of them doing Yoga!  Moreover, kids’ favourite

Commenting on associating with Nickelodeon for third year in a row, Smt. Kavita Garg, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, said, “Over the last two years, children have experienced high-stress levels and have been living a sedentary lifestyle, making it imperative to help them get back to their routine and instill positive energy through the power of yoga. We are extremely pleased with Nickelodeon’s initiative year-on-year helping tiny tots inculcate healthy habits at a young age through innovative formats. The Nicktoons have been actively advocating the benefits of yoga, inspiring kids towards a healthier and balanced life. In 2019, the campaign saw Motu and Patlu perform yoga with Prime Minster Narendra Modi along with 40,000 people at Prabhat Tara Ground and partnered with Mumbai’s biggest Yoga event – ‘Yoga by the Bay’, attended by over 10,000 yogis with Nicktoons Shiva and Rudra in attendance. Last year, owing to the pandemic, Nickelodeon celebrated Yoga Day virtually in partnership with the AYUSH Ministry and highlighted the importance of building a healthier immune system. The digital partnership was extensively promoted through interactive posts, and videos, followed by a nationwide contest that reached out to over 6,30,000 mothers and kids through digital mediums and received 3000+ entries under the Yoga contest hosted on the brand platform. To ensure wide spread awareness and to promote yoga ahead of International Yoga Day, Nickelodeon will drive engagement for #YogaSeHiHoga this year via a robust influencer marketing campaign, the entire Nickelodeon franchise on-air and on digital as well as on its social media channels.

This International Yoga Day, Ishan Shivanand, a Himalayan monk brings to India the secrets of ancient yoga combined with the latest cognitive therapies to give us Yoga of Immortals

Gurugram, June 20, 2022: This International Yoga Day, Ishan Shivanand, a Himalayan monk turned corporate trainer, brings to India the secrets of the ancient yoga combined with the latest cognitive therapies to give us Yoga of Immortals. The theme ‘Yoga for Humanity’ which will be organized in India and across the globe with a focus on how yoga is serving humanity is in line with Ishan Shivanand’s innovative and powerful ‘Yoga of Immortals’. His Wellness Programs help people access the urgent need for mental wellness, behavioral and mental healthcare that can help us to not just to let go of the stress, but also amplify success and happiness through mastery of the mind.

The mental state of Indians and need of a different approach to Mental Health & Wellness: While the rest of the world invests 5-18% of their GDP into mental health, India invests only 0.8%. Mental Health plummeted to all-time lows. in 2020, there were 76.2M cases of anxiety disorders and 53.2M more cases of major depressive disorders. With 153K+ suicides, the rate of suicides increased by YoY in 2020. Of this there was a 35% impact on the daily wage earners, housewives and unemployed.

At 29%, India has the second highest number of employees dealing with corporate burnout. Nearly one third of employees in India have experienced symptoms of burnout. The WHO has estimated India’s economic loss due to mental health to be ~ $1.03 trillion (75.84 L Cr) between 2012 to 2030, part of which was worsened by the pandemic.

What is Yoga of Immortals? Yoga of Immortals is an ancient, research backed set of powerful protocols developed by a Himalayan monk Ishan Shivanand, backed by neuroscientists, and practiced by the world’s leading CEOs, executives, athletes, and performers today. Yoga of Immortals aims to help you get access to affordable behavioural and mental healthcare that can help you not just let go of the stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, or insomnia but also help you amplify the success, happiness, and abundance in your life through mastery of the mind.

As nearly a third of the country’s population suffers from burnout symptoms, a figure that has been exacerbated by the pandemic, Ishan’s YOI programs have not only helped address rising cases of professional burnout, but they have also helped healthcare organizations support the mental well-being of the many frontline healthcare workers.

Ishan Shivanand has also conducted study with approximately 10,000 people from varied backgrounds during a time when much of the globe was seeking mental treatment. The study, conducted in collaboration with medical institutions in the United States – the University of Cincinnati and John Hopkins University School of Medicine, had promising finds. It discovered that nonpharmaceutical therapies and yogic routines delivered via digital platforms resulted in an 82% reduction and normalisation of sleep patterns, a 77% increase in quality of life, a 72% reduction in depression symptoms, and a 75% decrease in generalised anxiety.

Ishan Shivanand achieves exceptional results by combining old and modern approaches to teach professionals at the body, mind, and heart levels. While Ishan’s focus is on grooming and developing the individual mentally, physically, and emotionally, organisations are also educated on how to create a work environment that fosters creativity and innovation, of its employees, by assisting them in accessing their subconscious mind and tapping into their hidden potential.

This International Yoga Day let us pledge to serve the humanity with our ancient Yogic techniques.

Mr. Yashovardhan Birla, Chairman – Birla Group

Tell us about your entrepreneurial journey?
As a kid, I always used to visit my father’s office. When I was a teenager, after college, I used to learn the basics of business because this really helps you to be aware of every little aspect of it. After the sudden and tragic death of my family in 1990, I had to take over the family business at the young age of 22. Under the guidance of advisors and family members, I began my entrepreneurial journey. Even notable businessmen like Mr Aditya Birla, Mr Rahul Bajaj and many more guided me through the path of my entrepreneurial journey. All of this had a profound impression on me and instilled in me excellent values, as well as a realisation that visionaries like them have a 360-degree personality that we admire and treasure now and in the future.

What are the challenges you faced and how did you overcome them?
When I returned from the United States in 1990, having completing myMBA Degree at University of North Carolina, my relatives supported me in running our business. They had a significant impact on my life and what really helped me get through it was working on my body and mind. The level of attention, effort, dedication, and consistency that I put into fitness has helped me in other aspects of my life, such as the workplace, relationships, and interactions with others. It improves your self-esteem, makes you healthier, and aids in the proper working of your brain. If your physical health is good, having a healthy body and great physique brings you a lot of confidence when you enter a room.

What made you lean towards the health and wellness industry?
As the industry is a separate topic, I have always been passionate about health and wellness because I think a comprehensive complete lifestyle can only be enjoyed as long as you have health and wellness as one of your focuses in life. You would not be able to perform well and think with clarity unless you live healthily. I postulate that health and wellness are an integral part of life that everybody should focus on.
If an industry is financially viable and driven by passion, then it should be pursued. The whole health and wellness market is getting increasingly congested with brands — from small, family-owned businesses to international corporate behemoths putting their toes in — the demand for highly competent executives has never been higher. During the Covid era, this field was unquestionably redefined. People who want to stay in shape at home have found a market. When the entire globe is realising that health and holistic livings are a component and requirement of day-to-day existence, including things like Pranayam and meditation, as well as weight training, cardio, aerobics, and other such exercises. Even all the doctors in the world are advising people to help fight problems like blood pressure, heart problems, mental issues, or diabetes, they should exercise daily. All of these reasons make the health and wellness industry relevant and connect with my passion.

One mantra that you follow in life?
The one mantra that I have always followed in life is that ‘Consistency is key’. When it comes to achieving goals, whether in or out of the gym, consistency is undoubtedly the most critical factor. Programs become disorganised without consistency, the body has a harder time responding, and building habits become difficult. A commitment to a regular training routine will improve your fitness, health, and emotional well-being.
Our thinking can be our worst adversary. It believes it is helping us, yet negative thoughts can become habitual (and more repetitive than we realize). They can wreck havoc on our motivation and ambitions if we’re not careful.
Whenever I feel unmotivated to work out, I push myself, and within 10 minutes of entering the gym, I see a sudden shift in my mood. Our thinking can be our worst adversary. It believes it is helping us; yet negative thoughts can become habitual. They can wreak havoc on our motivation and ambitions if we are not careful.

We have heard that you have come up with a book based on wellness and lifestyle – tell us more about it?
“Building The Perfect Body” is written by me, but it is not just a fitness book. Instead, it is an exploration of my whole fitness journey. It focuses on one basic but crucial concept: fitness isn’t only a physical game; it’s also a mental one. I have shared the knowledge that I have acquired over the two decades of my fitness journey. This book is my earnest endeavour to share my experiences with individuals who want to find life-affirming solutions and achieve their objectives. This book includes instructions for exercises that target each major muscle group as well as other essentials. You can use this book as a blueprint to help you plan a physical and spiritual journey that is perfect for you.

What is your idea behind this book, and what is the key message that you want to give?
With so many trends emerging every other day and potentially dangerous “fads” beginners can face an information overload. My philosophy is based on a set of fundamental rules, ideas, and notions concerning the human body, physiology, and how it responds to exercise, nutrition, and rest. The only challenging aspect of exercising is implementation. The most difficult task for any fitness enthusiast is to keep motivated while dealing with low results, performance plateaus, sluggish responses, injuries, and other challenges, that come with age and various body types. I hope that this book will provide all the answers to people’s questions, along with the science, training, and nutrition for every level of fitness that needs to be attained.
