Aurobindo Rolls Out Molnaflu, Oral Covid Drug For Adult Patients

Hyderabad, India, 6th January, 2022

Aurobindo Pharma Limited has made its brand of molnupiravir- Molnaflu® available widely in India. Molnupiravir (Molnaflu®) is for treatment of adult patients with COVID-19, with Sp02 >93% and who have high risk of progression of the disease including hospitalization or death. Aurobindo’s brand Molnaflu® is now available pan-India across all major metros and towns through our distribution partner.

Molnupiravir was earlier approved under Emergency Use Authorisation from CDSCO, India. This is the first oral antiviral approved by India, the UK agency and also by US Foods & Drugs Administration. Last week, Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) granted Special Approval for Emergency in Japan for Molnupiravir for infectious disease caused by SARS-CoV-2.

Earlier last year, Aurobindo had signed a bi-lateral non-exclusive voluntary licensing agreement with Merck Sharpe Dohme, Singapore (MSD), a subsidiary of Merck & Co. (US) to manufacture and supply Molnupiravir to over 100 low and middle-income countries (LMIC), including India.

Bengaluru hosts 7 of 54 skill competitions of IndiaSkills 2021; industry 4.0, mechatronics and more skill competitions underway

Bengaluru, 6 January 2022: National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), the nodal agency for skill and entrepreneurship development working under the guidance of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), is conducting seven skill competitions—industry 4.0, mechatronics, prototype modelling, CNC turning, CNC milling, plastic die engineering, robot systems integration—in Bengaluru under IndiaSkills 2021 from 3 to 5 January 2022. The competition for information network cabling skill is being conducted in Mumbai. The remaining 46 skill competitions will be held in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi and eight other locations in the National Capital Region (NCR) from 7 to 9 January.

The competitions are being held at multiple locations under Covid-19 protocols mandated by local authorities and state governments. Decentralization of skill competitions will also ensure providing world-class infrastructure to the participants. Toyota India, Festo India Pvt. Ltd., Government Tool Room & Training Centre (GTTC), Karnataka German Technical Training Institutes (KGTTI) and Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) are facilitating the skill competitions in Bengaluru. ICT Center of Excellence, Mumbai is enabling the competition for information network cabling skill.

Under the Skill India Mission, the country’s biggest skill competition, IndiaSkills 2021 Nationals will bring together more than 500 participants from 26 states/ union territories, covering 54 skills such as beauty therapy, cyber security, floristry, autobody repair, cloud computing, water technology, painting and decorating, health and social care, welding, among others.

Seven new-age skills—robot systems integration, additive manufacturing, digital construction, industry 4.0, renewable energy, mobile applications development, and industrial design technology—have been introduced to the competition this year, keeping pace with the emerging technologies.

Witnessing over 2.5 lakh registrations, IndiaSkills 2021 began with district and state-level competitions in August-September 2021. The state-level competitions were conducted across 26 states/ UTs. This was followed by four regional competitions for East (Patna), West (Gandhinagar), North (Chandigarh) and South (Visakhapatnam), where more than 1,300 competitors pitted their skills against each other to qualify for the national round. The 500+ finalists from four regional competitions will now exhibit their skills at the National level to vie for a gold and a silver medal in each skill category.

Ved Mani Tiwari, Chief Operating Officer, NSDC said, “IndiaSkills Competition aims to create a pool of talented and skilled workforce, who will fuel the economic growth of the country in the future. The competition offers a national platform to the youth and exposure to global training standards. IndiaSkills 2021 National Competition will also feature Abilympics, a demonstration of skills by Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), in 16 skills including computer programming, painting, embroidery, and poster designing. With such participation, IndiaSkills has the potential to reach the grass-root level and is a major step towards bridging the gap between the demand and supply of a skilled workforce.

Journey from IndiaSkills to WorldSkills

The winners of IndiaSkills 2021 National Competition will undergo rigorous training to represent India at WorldSkills Shanghai, to be held in October 2022.

Winners of IndiaSkills Nationals will get multi-level industry training through boot camps and programmes such as project-based training, industry and corporate training, exposure visits to industries, mind coaching, and personality development. NSDC, through its Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) and Partner Institutes, trains the candidates for the competitions and for future endeavors.

Hyderabad go top of the table after thrilling 2-2 draw against ATK Mohun Bagan

Goa: Hyderabad FC left it late on Wednesday night to win a point against ATK Mohun Bagan in a nail-biting game at Fatorda to extend their unbeaten run to eight games and move to the top of the Indian Super League table.

A David Williams (1’) goal and an Asish Rai own goal (64’) could have won the game for the hosts but Bart Ogbeche (18’) and Javi Siverio (90 +1’) found equalizers for Manolo Marquez’s men on a dramatic night.

This result takes Hyderabad up to the top spot in the Indian Super League table with 16 points from nine games. They are level on points with Mumbai City FC but lead on goal difference.

Hyderabad FC started the game conceding a goal in just 13 seconds from kick-off as David Williams’ hit from long range was too good for Laxmikant Kattimani. But Bart Ogbeche found an equalizer in the 18th minute after Aniket Jadhav’s cross was mishandled by Amrinder Singh.

The ball fell to Ogbeche who made no mistake, taking the lead back from Igor Angulo in the race for the ISL Golden Boot. The HFC striker had a chance not long later after as a misplaced pass from Amrinder gave him acres of space inside the box. But the No. 20 could not find the right connection and the chance went begging.

Carl McHugh had an injury that was attended to which kind of killed any momentum that was building up in the game.

Both teams pushed for another goal but could not get into a lead to the break, or till the hour mark in the game. But it was a well-worked move from the hosts that gave Kauko a clear header that crept past Kattimani via a deflection from Asish Rai to give ATKMB a lead for the second time in the game.

Manolo Marquez already had Joel Chianese and Sahil Tavora in the middle by then and also added Rohit Danu, Seityasen (coming on for his HFC debut), and Javi Siverio later, in search of an equalizer that came very late in the game.

A set-piece delivery from deep saw Akash Mishra find space on the left and his cross was perfect for Siverio who lobbed it into goal to set off on a wild celebration with the HFC bench.

ATKMB defended well, and restricted Hyderabad from creating too many chances but Manolo’s inspired subs and the ‘never give up’ attitude from his players saw them avoid breaking their unbeaten run and move to the top of the league table.

Asish Rai who managed to keep Liston Colaco quiet for the entire game was the Hero of the Match but the likes of Nikhil Poojary, Juanan and Joao Victor were also solid with their duties throughout the game.
