Securities market code to include SEBI act, Government securities act and depositories act announced in the Budget 2021-22

“The consolidation of securities laws, existing decriminalisation of offences under the Companies Act and the proposed decriminalisation under the LLP Act marks an important move towards making Indian corporate legal framework, simpler, business friendly and ultimately (hopefully) reducing compliance costs.  The securities market code is in line with previous discussions on the NFRA. It marks a step towards streamlining the multiple laws, ordinances, guidelines and regulations. If drafted and executed in a proper manner, it will be helpful to market participants and remove any possible conflicts in the regulatory framework and will provide clarity in policy making to investors and stakeholders”

Himani Shivpuri opens up about her journey with the BIG C this World Cancer Day

Cancer is an unannounced disease and even though Doctors advice on taking adequate care, conduct routine health check-ups and avoid falling prey to it, one cannot escape the clutches of this illness. Finding herself in the similar situation was &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan’s Himani Shivpuri (Katori Amma). The coveted actress who has been a part of popular Bollywood and television shows opens up about her strenuous journey with the big C on World Cancer Day and shares how she came out victorious. Talking about the initial days Katori Amma (Himani Shivpuri) from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan shares, “When I first witnessed the signs of cancer, I immediately spoke to my doctor and conducted a few tests. Nervous and anxious, I hoped and prayed for everything to be normal but after the investigation, a tumour was detected in my cells and I was immediately asked to get operated to find out if they were cancerous. The biopsy reports confirmed the news of my cancer and I then slipped into a complete denial mode. I was not ready to believe that I was diagnosed with such life-threatening disease but eventually, I gained control of myself and was cooperative with the medical team.” Adding further Himani Shivpuri shares, “The doctors advised me to take six chemotherapy sessions to come out cancer-free. I instantly agreed not knowing that the recovery journey will be the toughest part. Right after my first chemotherapy session, I was set to leave for National School of Drama, Delhi. But, on the day of my departure, the strong dosage of the chemotherapy injection made me so uncomfortable on the flight that I had to request the attendants to deplane me so that I could buy the medicines prescribed by my doctor to feel better.” The road to recovery was definitely the most phase of Himani Shivpuri’s life, but it has left her with more positivity and hope of living a better and healthy life. Himani Shivpuri ends by sharing, “After I returned from Delhi, I completed my chemotherapy sessions and as advised by my doctor, I have been undergoing annual check-ups. I am a proud cancer survivor and would urge everyone to take care of themselves if detected with Cancer. Like I always say, you can either be a victim, or a survivor. It’s a mindset.”

HDFC Life’s latest offering – Click 2 Protect Life

HDFC Life, one of India’s leading life insurers, has launched its latest flagship term product Click 2 Protect Life. The non-linked, non-participating, individual term plan has been designed to cater to the changing needs in the different life stages of an individual.

The ongoing pandemic has brought about a change in an individual’s approach towards life insurance as a product category. Term insurance has become an important component of every financial plan.

HDFC Life’s Click 2 Protect Life offers three main options:

1. Life & Critical Illness Auto-balance: A smart cover which provides protection against critical illness (CI) and death by auto balancing life and CI cover with increasing age. In this option, the life cover decreases while critical illness cover increases proportionally, on each policy anniversary. In addition, on diagnosis of any of the listed 36 CI conditions, not only the increased CI sum assured is paid but also all future premiums are waived off and the life cover continues.
At the start of the policy, the basic sum assured is split between life cover and critical illness cover in 80:20 ratio. The total basic sum assured remains the same throughout the policy.
The best part about this plan is that despite the increasing CI cover at every policy anniversary, the premium for the customer remains unchanged throughout the policy term.

2. Life Protect Option: This option provides financial protection to the family of the life assured by providing coverage against death during the policy term. A lump sum is provided to the nominee on death of the life assured. This cover can be taken either for a fixed term or for the whole of life.

3. Income Plus Option: This option provides regular monthly income from age 60 onwards while also providing cover for death during the policy term to ensure financial well being of the dependants. The life assured is covered for the entire policy term and starts receiving a monthly income starting from the age of 60, continuing until death or policy maturity, whichever comes first. The death benefit payable to the nominee will be after deduction of the monthly income that was paid until death. In this plan one can also opt for whole life cover. This option is a unique proposition in the life insurance industry as it bundles regular pension with life cover.

All options include both fixed and whole life covers.

Add-on features like Return of Premiums, Waiver of Premiums on CI, Accidental Death Benefit and premium payment frequency alteration are available for some options as per pre-disclosed conditions.

Speaking on the launch, Srinivasan Parthasarathy – Chief Actuary & Appointed Actuary said, “The pandemic has made every individual aware of the need for financial protection. With time and changing lifestyle the need for financial protection is not the same as it was a few years ago. Based on customer inputs and our research findings we have designed a product that meets the changing life stage needs of an individual.

There are three options available in this plan, each with a unique offering. Especially the Income Plus option which acts as a means of regular income for individuals once they turn 60. One can choose the option that is best suited for their requirements. We believe customers will see value in the product and use it to secure themselves and their families.”

The Journey From ‘Poker Straight Hair’ To The Emergence Of A Multi-Million Dollar ‘Wildly Curly Hair’ Industry

By the Urban Love Team

60% of the world’s population has curly and / or wavy hair, however, the ideal standards of Indian beauty have always been silky straight hair and that has manifested itself into our societal beliefs and perceptions. The Bollywood industry, that plays a huge part in influencing young minds, portrayed curly-haired women as rebellious, wild, quirky and undisciplined. This irrational obsession was fueled by the advancement of technological availability of salon-quality hair tools.

A majority of people around the world believe that Indian women are born with naturally silky, smooth and straight hair. These people cannot be blamed as the Bollywood industry has already set the standards, with straight hair that blows across the screen in slow motion. Watching these women on the screen might have persuaded you into buying a few hair extensions, straightening tools, or even those newly famous Sugarbear hair gummies trending on Instagram and other social platforms. Let’s break it to you; South Asian women are known to have naturally wavy and curly hair.

It is an enthralling timewithin the world of entertainment. Inclusivity has become more apparent in the fashion and beauty industries, however, Bollywood – well let us give it some credit for at least trying. From an ‘Oh haseenazulfeinwalijaanejaha’ to Badshah rapping ‘Zulfeinhainzalim’, to Diya Mirza’s ‘khulilatein’ in Zara Zara, Bollywood has always glorified long luscious silky-smooth hair to the point where it is has been romanticized and even sexualized.

The Bollywood industry has now started representing real women on big screens. Actresses are demanding to showcase their actual selves, instead of the surface-level divas their roles claim them to be. Inclusivity in terms of body types, skin color, and facial structures have become ever so prominent in today’s world.

TaapseePannu was given absolute freedom to keep her hair natural in Badla. Katrina transformed her hair into soft curls for Bharat. Mithila Palmar has been seen in one of the famous Netflix shows,Chopsticks, where she has left her voluminous bouncy curls as natural as possible. The real women of India have imperfectly perfect curly and wavy hair, and it is time we see that on the big screens as well.

The Indian hair care market has forecasted to reach USD 4.89 billion by 2025 growing at a CAGR of 6.58%. With 60% of the global population having curls, coils and waves, amongst which two-thirds of women with textured hair use four or more hair care products each month. 90% of Indian hair is curly, wavy or textured, and now with the onset of acceptance of curly hair, 1.2 lakh monthly online searches by Indian users on managing curly hair have been noticed on various e-commerce websites.

Gone are the days when women would put hours and hours of effort into straightening their hair and making it look sleek and pokerstraight. Now,an increasing number of women are embracing naturally curly hair with the ever so popular‘curly girl method’ (CGM).

Whether your hair is bouncy, big, tousled, or tight, textured hair, it is paving its way in style. Whether you have been tightly combing it down with oil or lathering it up with gel to tame it down, it is finally time to pull out that mane andstrut the street as naturally as you can.

If you are thinking about embracing your textured hair, but do not know where to begin, do not worry yourself, because The Urban Love is here to your rescue with its unique blend of all-natural herbal hair care products.

You must use clean products without any harsh chemicals, sulfates, parabens, and silicone that are typically found in shampoos, and a lot of curly hair products. These products eventually lead to damaged hair and will strip the natural oils from your curls, leading to dry frizzy and dull hair. Aside from stripping away the natural texture of your hair these chemicals are also linked to more severe conditions, such as breast cancer.

As you start discovering the beauty in your curls you will find yourself appreciating a lot more things that you might have resented over time. Just like the natural curves of your body, it is important to embrace the natural curls of your hair as well. Let it bounce and come to life, let the Diva in you Shine through with The Urban Love hair products.

It’s time we liberate ourselves from the predefined notions of beauty set by our society and embrace the glory of our uniquely diverse hair that has been passed down from generations while exploring the potential within us to the fullest.

This year’s budget by Hon’ble Finance Minister is pragmatic, positive and committed to the healthcare sector which needed a deliberate boost post unprecedented virus outbreak last year. The announcement of centrally funded scheme – Aatmanirbhar Health Yojana – with an outlay of Rs 64,180 crore over six years in addition to National Health Mission is a welcome step towards strengthening primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare in the country. Setting up of 15 Health Emergency Centres shows the government’s intent to be future-ready to address any healthcare crises. It is commendable that the government has put healthcare on the forefront, putting focus on curative and preventive health and wellbeing. The allocation this year is likely to be around Rs 2,23,846 crore which is a whopping over 130% rise from the budget last year. The proposals would make quality healthcare accessible and affordable, besides standardizing healthcare infrastructure across the country.
