New Delhi, 25th February 2022: On the occasion of National Pet Dental Health Month, with an aim to create awareness about the importance of pet dental health, Zigly, a digital-first, omnichannel retail platform said that the company will be conducting a Free Dental Health Check-Up Camp at Zigly Store located in Kailash Colony on 26th & 27th Feb between 12 – 5 along with free Dental Consultation through the website till 28th February.
Looking after dental health is important. Pet owners often take their canine babies for grooming sessions but what they do not realize is that the latter’s dental health is as important which results in their dental health checkup taking a backseat. According to the American Veterinary Dental College, it’s estimated that the majority of pets show symptoms of dental or periodontal disease by three years of age.
Talking about the camp, Mr. Ambarish Sikarwar, Business Head, Zigly said, “Zigly’s objective is to ensure the well-being of each and every Pet and the objective of this campaign is to generate awareness on dental hygiene. Although pets are now part of the family, awareness of dental care is missing. We, humans, take care of our dental hygiene and often miss the dental hygiene of a pet.”
“Statics show that 80% of pets above 3 years old have dental problems. Pet’s dental health is the most vital care to be ensured, dental disease doesn’t just affect the mouth, it can lead to serious health problems affecting the intestinal tract, heart, lung, kidney, and joints. We are providing free dental check-up at Zigly to one of the most overlooked areas of pet care practice. This check-up will ensure your pet lives a healthy and happy life,” he added.
Dr. Deepak Saraswat Sr. Veterinary Consultant, Zigly said “The dental needs of dogs are similar to that of humans. A regular visit to the clinic with your furry babies and brushing their teeth once every 2-3 times a week is necessary. I believe starting early helps condition the pets to get accustomed to the procedure. There are always treats and water additives to encourage furry babies to fall in line with the routine too.”
