Swami Shri Krishan Ji Trust and Illness to Wellness Foundation organise two-day preventive health check-up camp

New Delhi, 22 July, 2025: In today’s fast-paced and hyper-connected world, the pressures of modern living are taking a serious toll on public health. Long working hours, technological convenience, urban comforts, improper diets, inadequate physical activity and high levels of stress have all inadvertently created an environment where unhealthy habits thrive. The result is a sharp rise in lifestyle-related ailments, many of which progress silently and go unnoticed until serious complications arise.

The surge of “silent diseases” such as high blood pressure, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and other chronic conditions are particularly dangerous because they often show little to no symptoms in the early stages until it is too late, as significant damage may have already been done. Traditionally, such chronic conditions were more common among people over the age of 45. However, recent health trends reveal a disturbing shift—these diseases are now affecting younger populations, including those in their 20s and 30s.

Recognising the urgent need to address rising health concerns linked to modern lifestyles, Swami Shri Krishan Ji Trust organised a free two-day health camp on 19th and 20th July. The initiative, held in collaboration with the Illness to Wellness Foundation and YoloHealth, took place at the Shiv Mandir Yog Sadhna Kendra in Maidan Garhi, New Delhi.

The health camp saw participation from hundreds of citizens, who underwent comprehensive health screenings. Tests included checks for blood pressure, lipid profiles, blood sugar levels, and several invasive and non-invasive diagnostics. The screenings revealed a concerning number of participants with undiagnosed health issues, including hypertension, obesity, and diabetes.

One of the most notable findings came from HbA1c tests, which are used to detect long-term blood sugar levels. Alarmingly, nearly 15% of those tested recorded values of 200 or above, indicating possible undiagnosed diabetes. For many participants, the results were unexpected, highlighting the silent nature of such chronic conditions. The early identification of these conditions has now equipped attendees with the knowledge to seek appropriate medical care and make necessary lifestyle changes.

Representatives from the organising trust and partnering foundations emphasised the importance of preventive healthcare and regular screenings, especially in urban populations that are increasingly exposed to sedentary habits, unhealthy diets, and high stress levels.

The camp is part of a sustained, city-wide initiative that has been running for more than a year, spearheaded by the ‘Illness to Wellness’ Foundation and YoloHealth. In collaboration with a range of like-minded organisations, this ongoing series of health camps is dedicated to championing the importance of preventive healthcare.

Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Anil Rajput, Chairperson, Advisory Council, Illness to Wellness Foundation, said, “It is heartening to see how impactful community health initiatives can be when purpose-driven organisations come together. The Illness to Wellness awareness campaign, along with the YoloHealth mobile HealthATM, has steadily expanded its reach and has been positively impacting more and more people. This time, in partnership with Swami Shri Krishan Ji Trust, the programme has organised another successful health camp. In an age where lifestyle-related diseases are rising even among the youth, we must continue to expand such grassroots efforts. Preventive healthcare is not just about early diagnosis; it’s about empowerment, education, and building healthier communities. We remain committed to deepening our outreach and joining hands with more organisations to make health awareness accessible and actionable for all.”

The ‘Illness to Wellness’ campaign is a national initiative committed to fostering healthy living. It has been actively conducting a series of health camps aimed at raising awareness about the critical importance of early detection and preventive care. Through these camps, the campaign is bridging the gap between awareness and action, encouraging healthier choices, routine screenings, and a shift towards long-term wellness across diverse communities.

At the camp, YoloHealth used its innovative product, HealthATM, demonstrating how technology revolutionises accurate health assessments. The HealthATM machines are an aggregation of US FDA/EU-certified IoT-enabled medical devices with YoloHealth’s proprietary HIPAA-compliant software and cloud-based telemedicine platform. This pioneering initiative provides accessible primary and preventive healthcare services and empowers individuals to monitor their health and make informed decisions.
