IPRS Expands Outreach to Leh-Ladakh, Champions Regional Creators at Pahari Goat Festival 3.0

New Delhi, 11th July 2025 – The Indian Performing Right Society (IPRS) is proud to announce its participation in the upcoming ‘Pahari Goat Festival 3.0 – Goat must be crazy’ scheduled for July 12–13, 2025, in the breathtaking mountains of Leh, Ladakh. This initiative marks a significant step in IPRS’s ongoing mission to connect with music creators and independent artists from some of the most remote regions of the country—raising awareness about creators’ rights and building a robust support system across India’s rich and diverse cultural landscape.

IP curators and founders, Kalsang Tsering “Trepz” and Kalden Regzin have been paving a platform across Himalaya’s for Artists across all verticals. The event is being planned and managed by Planagement Global Events, founded by Snehi Harsh & Associate Partner, Chitrarup Bhowmik as their mission.

The two-day festival brings together emerging and established voices in hip-hop, folk, and regional music, creating a platform for cultural exchange and creative expression in the Himalayan region. Performers include TNAMMYTenzin RythaNOCHENFaisal AshoorPadma LadollKromeG Tashi, K. Kush, Sangpoispo, and collectives like Art of Motion Ladakh—offering a powerful showcase of indigenous identity, linguistic diversity, and creative expression. Recognising the value of such initiatives, IPRS is expanding its outreach beyond metros engaging directly with artists and collectives through on-ground sessions on understanding copyright, royalties, and digital-era music practices.

As part of its visit to the event, IPRS will engage with regional artists, music stakeholders, and local authorities to gain insights into the challenges faced by creators in remote and underrepresented territories, and explore ways to discover, nurture and promote the talent from the region.

Commenting on the association with IPRS, Snehi Harsh – Planning and Management Partner – Planagement of Pahari Goat Festival said, “We’re proud to have the Indian Performing Right Society (IPRS) associated with Pahari Goat Festival 3.0. As the official copyright body for music creators in India, IPRS protects the rights of songwriters, composers, and publishers—empowering the very voices that make our celebrations unforgettable. Through this association, we aim to empower artists across India with knowledge of music, art, and culture.”

“Many talented music creators in India’s remote and regional communities fail to benefit from the formal copyright framework largely due to a lack of awareness and access to the necessary information. Festivals like the Pahari Goat Rap Festival offer a valuable opportunity to engage directly with these creators, to listen, inform, and guide them on how to protect and monetise their work,” said Rumpa Banerjee, Head CorpCom & Member Relations, IPRS. “Our aim is to ensure that every creator, regardless of where they come from, has access to the knowledge and tools needed to navigate today’s dynamic music landscape and earn fair value from the music they create.”

As part of its collaboration with the Pahari Goat Association, IPRS will launch initiatives to empower regional creators—starting with Artist Education & Awareness through workshops and an On-Site Help Desk. The initiative will also foster community engagement by collaborating with regional cultural bodies and partnering with local studios to establish Local IP Hubs—focused on amplifying voices from the Himalayas by equipping artists with the tools needed to protect and monetise their work.

India’s musical heritage is as varied as its geography, with vibrant traditions flourishing in every corner—from the Himalayan Mountain festivals to the coastal folk concerts and urban indie scenes. This collaboration builds on IPRS’s regional outreach and reinforces its mission to reach creators beyond Tier-1 cities—making IP awareness a norm nationwide. The ‘Pahari Goat Festival 3.0 – Goat must be crazy’, blending traditional sounds from Ladakh with contemporary music, offers a timely platform to support and showcase emerging artists from the region.
