Chennai, Dec 1: Wonderla Holidays Limited, India’s largest amusement park chain, today celebrated a landmark moment with the formal inauguration of Wonderla Chennai, its first park in Tamil Nadu and fifth in the country. The park was inaugurated by Thiru. M.K. Stalin, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, in the presence of Thiru. Dr. T.R.B Rajaa, Honourable Minister for Industries , Government of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. T. M. Anbarasan, Honourable Minister for MSME, Government of Tamil Nadu, other senior government officials, and other distinguished dignitaries. The park will be open to the public starting 2nd December 2025.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Arun K. Chittilappilly, Executive Chairman & Managing Director; Mr. Dheeran Choudhary, Chief Operating Officer; Mr. Vyshakh Ravindran, Park Head – Chennai; members of the Board of Directors; and the senior leadership team of Wonderla Holidays Ltd.
Wonderla Chennai’s opening represents the culmination of a decade-long commitment that initially began with an MoU signed with the Government of Tamil Nadu on 10th September 2015. Despite delays owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, government extended unwavering support, with the present administration playing a pivotal role in fast-tracking approvals and enabling timely execution of the project.
Wonderla Chennai, an investment of around Rs. 611 crores, marks a significant milestone in the tourism and entertainment landscape of Tamil Nadu while generating 1000 new jobs. The park features 43 world-class rides across high thrill, family, kids, and water categories, built to entertain up to 6,500 visitors daily. Ticket prices start at ₹1,489, with a 10% discount on early bird online bookings and a 20% concession for college students carrying valid IDs along with other curated offers for groups and seasons.
