Station Satcom joins hands with Eutelsat OneWeb to transform Maritime Connectivity across International Waters

Mumbai, July 31, 2025: Station Satcom, a multinational and global leader in maritime communications, has announced a landmark partnership with Eutelsat OneWeb, part of the world’s first integrated GEO-LEO satellite group. The collaboration focuses exclusively on revolutionising connectivity for the commercial maritime sector, including Merchant Marine, Leisure and Yachting, Offshore Energy and Fishing segments, across global waters.

This strategic partnership will see Station Satcom integrate OneWeb’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite technology into its service offerings, creating a powerful solution for over 5,500 vessels and 850 customers who rely on the company for reliable communications at sea.

The new LEO-powered connectivity delivers a high-speed, low latency connectivity experience at sea. LEO satellites orbit at just 1,200 km and due to their proximity to Earth, this enables real-time communication – ideal for applications like video conferencing, voice calls and live data exchange, even from vessels navigating remote oceans.

According to Anshul Khanna, Founder and Managing Director, Station Satcom Group, “This is a game-changer for the maritime sector at large. By integrating OneWeb’s LEO satellite service, we can now offer seamless connectivity for ship owners, crew welfare and offshore operations.”

The LEO constellation benefits extend to greater service reliability for maritime operations, maintaining consistent connectivity amid increasingly dynamic weather at sea. In the words of Thierry Polycarpe, Vice President of Global Maritime at Eutelsat, “We are proud to expand our long-standing partnership with Station Satcom. Maritime is a key growth segment for connectivity and this agreement underscores our commitment to enabling digital transformation at sea.”

This technology also brings affordable high-speed internet to sea allowing maritime businesses globally to adopt smart operations that were previously impractical with legacy satellite networks. The dedicated Service Level Agreements (SLAs) offered under this partnership will further ensure a consistent, secure and predictable internet experience for clients.
