Welcoming Scrappage Policy by the Government Mr. Rajeev Radhakrishnan, Founder and CEO of MechaniK TV said “The scrappage policy is a breath of fresh air for the auto industry. Besides ensuring a cleaner environment and reducing dependence on import of raw materials, it will be a shot in the arm for electric vehicle penetration too. For the auto-aftermarket, it will have two more positives. While it will mitigate the challenges related to spare parts availability for older vehicles, as older vehicles get scrapped it will give independent mechanics the impetus to upgrade their skills and become organized.”
