PHDCCI Organised Interactive Session on Global Trade and Investment Opportunities for the Indian Industry in Austria

The International Affairs Division of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), in collaboration with Advantage Austria, organised an Interactive Session on ‘Global Trade and Investment Opportunities for the Indian Industry (GTI) in Austria’ on Friday, 1st August 2025 at PHD House, New Delhi.

Advantage Austria, the foreign trade promotion organization of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, is Austria’s leading service provider in all aspects of industrialization and internationalization. With a global network spanning over 100 locations in more than 70 countries, it plays a pivotal role in facilitating Austrian trade and business outreach worldwide.

The session featured a keynote address by Mr. Hans-Joerg Hoertnagl, Commercial Counsellor & Trade Commissioner, Austrian Embassy Commercial Section, Embassy of Austria, New Delhi, who highlighted Austria’s trade and investment ecosystem and encouraged deeper bilateral engagement with the Indian industry. The focus sectors which have potential for exports; Electronic Goods, Apparels, Textile, Footwear, Rubber articles, Vehicles & Railways parts, Electrical machinery and Mechanical appliances.

Mr Naveen Seth, Deputy Secretary General, PHDCCI highlighted about the huge potential for Indian industry industries in India and assured full cooperation in Enhancing the bilateral trade between two nations.

Mr. Ajay Aggarwal, President, Toy Association of India, and Mr. Rajan Sehgal, Co-Chair, Tourism Committee, PHDCCI, were also present during the session and shared their perspectives on potential areas of collaboration.

The interactive discussion focused on enhancing trade ties, promoting mutual investments, and exploring emerging sectors for partnership between the two countries. The event served as a platform for strengthening Indo-Austrian economic relations and exploring new business opportunities.
