Kruu Powers Global Push with Fresh Bridge Funding
June 24, 2025: Kruu, Chennai based a fast-growing project-based learning and skilling platform that connects students globally with top university professors and industry experts, has announced the successful closure of INR 1 Crore in a bridge round of investment.
To date, Kruu has raised $1.25 million in pre-seed funding, including this bridge, and has turned revenue-positive in its second year of operations, which is a unique milestone in the sector. This bridge round reflects strong investor confidence in Kruu’s mission to redefine how students from emerging economies access world-class education and skill-building opportunities.
Founded in late 2022 by acclaimed musician and educator Anil Srinivasan, Kruu was born from a simple but powerful idea: enable middle and high-school students to build real-world skills through guided projects led by global subject matter experts. In just over two years, Kruu has grown into a thriving community of over 470,000 students, with more than 130,000 paying users, spanning India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and now expanding into UAE, Malaysia, Latin America, and beyond.
Already profitable within just two financial cycles — a rare feat in the edtech space, Kruu has been recognised by The PIE as one of the Top 10 most progressive ideas in education. Kruu’s unique model combines 3–4-week guided projects with direct mentorship, scholarships, and internship opportunities, bridging the crucial gap between traditional education and future-ready skills. This distinctive approach has attracted strategic corporate partnerships and earned institutional recognition, including a key endorsement from the Department of Education of the Government of the Philippines, following Kruu’s participation at DepEd’s international education conference. This marked a major milestone in Kruu’s integration into national-level education systems.
Anil Srinivasan, Founder and CEO at Kruu, said, Kruu has always been about breaking barriers- for students, for educators, and for communities that deserve equal access to the best learning experiences. “This round of funding, coming from believers who know what transformative education can achieve, gives us the fuel to scale responsibly and keep innovating.”
With this bridge round, Kruu also welcomes seasoned industry leaders to its captable and advisory board, further strengthening its global network as it prepares for a larger fundraise later this year.
