Kolkata, 1 February 2022: Regarding the Union Budget 2022-23 Mr.Taranjit Singh, Managing Director of JIS Group added,

“Though the Union Budget 2022-23 focusses to ensure E-Learning smooth for each and every student of India, whose education has been impacted since almost past two years owing to the pandemic. But the allotment amount has not been mentioned for the establishment of Digital University or infrastructure as of now. As a result the students who do not possess any Laptops or Smartphones to continue their education on virtual mode or even uninterrupted internet connection, will not be able to take advantage of any digital university even if it is established in near future. Concentrating on the Ed-Tech sector the government has ushered in a new era but subsidising the sector is the need of the hour which the education sector expected more from the budget 2022-23. Five academic institutions on urban planning to be made centres of excellence and the institutions will get endowment of Rs 250 crore each but an overall budget allocation for the education sector would have been beneficial given the current pandemic situation”
