Heritage Xperiential Students Win at Panasonic KWN Global Summit 2025
India’s Young Filmmakers from Heritage Xperiential Learning School Win Category Award at Panasonic Kid Witness News Global Summit 2025
New Delhi, 28th October 2025: Panasonic Holdings Corporation hosted the 36th edition of its flagship global initiative, Kid Witness News (KWN), an educational program that empowers young minds through the art of digital storytelling while raising awareness around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The global summit, held virtually on October 25, drew participation from around 3,000 students across 10 countries, showcasing their creativity and perspectives on pressing global issues.
For the first time ever, Panasonic India’s entry has won the KWN Kids Award for their thought-provoking short film, ‘The Last Drop’. The short film highlights the urgent need for water conservation and environmental responsibility, seen through the eyes of children.
This year, Panasonic India had two entries competing globally: Heritage Xperiential Learning School in the secondary category (students aged 13-18 years) and Shalom Hills International School in the primary category (students aged 10-12 years), both of which emerged as winners in the national round of the competition held in August 2025.
Speaking on the achievement, Mr. Tadashi Chiba, MD and CEO, Panasonic Life Solutions India (PLSIND), expressed, “We are extremely proud of the young filmmakers from India who have brought global recognition to the country through their creativity and sense of purpose. Kid Witness News is not just about filmmaking; it is about building awareness, empathy, and responsibility among the youth for a sustainable future. This win showcases the power of young voices in driving meaningful change.”
Ms. Anju Malhotra, GM, Manufacturing HR & CSR, Panasonic Life Solutions India (PLSIND) added, “At Panasonic, our commitment to nurturing young minds extends beyond technology. Through KWN, we aim to encourage students to express their ideas on social and environmental issues using digital storytelling tools. Seeing an Indian school win at the global level for the first time reinforces our belief in the transformative potential of youth-led creativity.”
The global competition comprised four award categories, including Panasonic Award, Professional Award, KWN Fans Award, and KWN Kids Award, honoring outstanding creativity, technical excellence, and storytelling impact.
The Kid Witness News (KWN) is Panasonic’s long-running global educational initiative, launched in the United States in 1989. It aims to enhance creativity, communication skills, and global citizenship among school students by providing them with video production tools and training. Over the years, KWN has evolved into a global movement that inspires young changemakers to address social challenges through powerful storytelling.
