Hyderabad, November 01, 2025: A two-day Capacity Building Workshop on Innovation, Design & Entrepreneurship (IDE) for education officers concluded on Friday late evening at Vardhaman College of Engineering, transforming 91 Telangana educators—DEOs, DSOs, and DIET faculty—into champions of innovation.

Organised under the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) in collaboration with AICTE, Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), NCERT, School Innovation Council (SIC), PM SHRI Schools, and the Wadhwani Foundation, the workshop marked Telangana’s regional chapter in a national mission to embed innovation and entrepreneurship in school education.

“Innovation is not a skill — it’s a mindset,” said Prof. Ravindra, Principal, Vardhaman College of Engineering, while speaking at the closing ceremony. “Through IDE, we’re enabling teachers to nurture students who won’t just adapt to the future but shape it.”

Facilitators Dr Rajesh Kandula and Mr Shaik Waseem of the Wadhwani Foundation transformed complex frameworks into engaging, hands-on sessions. “This isn’t just pedagogy,” said one participant. “It’s a mindset shift — from teaching answers to nurturing curiosity.”

Dr Indrani Bhaduri, Head of PARAKH, NCERT, demonstrated how the PARAKH Dashboard aligns creativity with measurable learning outcomes, connecting assessment directly with innovation.

Mr Aditya Ravi Shankar from T-Works, Telangana’s world-class prototyping hub, invited educators to collaborate: “T-Works is where ideas meet the tools to become reality.”

Earlier on Thursday, AICTE Chairman Prof. T.G. Sitharam virtually inaugurated the National IDE Bootcamp, a first-of-its-kind initiative training 1,500 education officers nationwide across three phases.

“AICTE is deeply committed to design and innovation,” he said. “Education officers are the change agents who will take this movement to schools.” Vardhaman College was chosen as Telangana’s Nodal Centre for the AICTE IDE Bootcamp.

The workshop adopted a human-centred approach, blending innovation, problem-solving, and design thinking through live case studies and interactive visits. Participants explored the Vardhaman College Incubation Centre and the Centre for Research and Innovation Foundation (VCECRIF), where student innovators showcased prototypes such as a sensor-based walking stick for the visually impaired, a solar-powered RO system, and an automatic waste segregator.

The participants of the bootcamp visited the Incubation Centre of Vardhman College of Engineering. Startups like GetFund, InsirraForge, and Team Nivaran (IC 2025 Hackathon winners) from Vardhaman College of Engineering shared their journeys from ideas to impact.

Launched virtually across 26 locations in 21 States and UTs, the IDE initiative—envisioned by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi—aims to nurture innovation and entrepreneurial skills among students and teachers. The next two phases will be held in eight and eleven locations in early and mid-November, respectively.

The Hyderabad IDE Bootcamp showcased India’s education reforms in motion — turning policy into practice by linking teachers with innovation ecosystems such as T-Works, VCECRIF, and PARAKH. Together, they are laying the foundation for every school to become a micro-lab of creativity, entrepreneurship, and national progress.
