Sanjeevan Hospital Expands Access with Ayushman Card and Free Night OPD in Delhi
In a landmark move to expand access to public healthcare in the national capital, Sanjeevan Hospital has inaugurated Delhi’s first dedicated Ayushman Card OPD, along with a Free Night OPD exclusively for beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the Sanjeevan OPD Block, 72 Ansari Road, on Saturday, April 5, at 1:00 PM, and was attended by several prominent dignitaries. Shri Virender Sachdeva, President of Delhi BJP, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. He was joined by MLAs Shri Talvinder Singh Marwah and Dr. Anil Goyal, and Shri Manoj Jain, Municipal Corporator, as distinguished guests.
Currently, AB-PMJAY covers inpatient care up to ₹5 lakh per family per year, but does not include outpatient services. With outpatient visits making up a large portion of healthcare needs, Sanjeevan Hospital’s initiative seeks to address this gap by offering basic outpatient services to Ayushman cardholders.
Under the new initiative:
- Day OPD services will be available from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- Free Night OPD services will operate from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Prem Aggarwal, Medical Director of Sanjeevan Hospital, said: “Through this OPD, we aim to provide continued, accessible, and affordable care to Ayushman cardholders—especially for those who cannot afford private consultations. Our night OPD will ensure that even working individuals and daily-wage earners can receive timely medical attention without financial burden.”
All services will be provided at CGHS rates, to help keep treatment affordable for patients.
This OPD model could serve as a reference for extending outpatient services to a wider section of Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries in urban settings.
