Nisarg Srishti Welfare Foundation Hosts Successful Noise Pollution Awareness Campaign in PuneOn September 12th, 2024, the Nisarg Srishti Welfare Foundation took a significant step towards environmental awareness by hosting a noise pollution campaign at Vardhaman English Medium School and Junior College in Pune. The event, spearheaded by Event Manager Shri Rajendra Kulkarni, aimed to educate young minds on the growing issue of noise pollution and its detrimental effects on health and the environment.

Mrs. Neena Singh, Project Head of NSW Foundation, delivered an engaging and insightful presentation, highlighting the importance of addressing noise pollution at a grassroots level. Her talk was well-received by the students, who were encouraged to become ambassadors of change in their communities.

The event saw strong support from the school’s Principal, Mrs. Sonali Malani, who expressed her commitment to fostering environmental awareness among students. With 80 enthusiastic participants, the campaign was not only informative but also fostered a sense of responsibility among the students to contribute to a healthier environment.

Adding to the event’s impact was the involvement of Mr. Somesh Prem, Founder of the Green Life Foundation. His organization, which provides educational support to tribal students from low-income families in regions like Satara, Bhor, Pune, Ahilyanagar, and Kolhapur, collaborated with NSW Foundation to emphasize the importance of education in addressing environmental challenges. The partnership between the two organizations underscored the role of community involvement in driving meaningful change.

A special mention goes to Dr. Garima Kavathekar, whose continued guidance and environmental insights have been instrumental in shaping NSW Foundation’s initiatives. As a recognized advocate for environmental sustainability, Dr. Garima ’s contributions have consistently pushed the boundaries of awareness campaigns, ensuring that each project is not only impactful but also sustainable in the long run.

Together, the collaboration between the Nisarg Srishti Welfare Foundation and the Green Life Foundation, along with the active participation of the students and staff at Vardhaman School, resulted in a successful campaign. This event highlighted the critical role of education and community action in tackling noise pollution and promoting a sustainable future.
