IIM Bodh Gaya Partners with Bihar Police Academy for Leadership Development in Public Administration



Bodh Gaya, November 5, 2025: The Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya and the Bihar Police Academy (BPA), Rajgir, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on November 3, 2025, to collaborate in the areas of leadership development, capacity building, and academic cooperation for public servants of the State of Bihar. The MoU was signed by Dr. Vinita S. Sahay, Director, IIM Bodh Gaya, and Shri Sushil Kumar, Nodal Officer, Bihar Police Academy, in the presence of senior officials and faculty members from both institutions. Under this partnership, IIM Bodh Gaya will serve as the Leadership and Management Development partner to the Bihar Police Academy, aimed to enhance managerial competence, leadership acumen, and decision-making capabilities among police personnel through tailored management development and soft skills training programmes.

This collaboration will contribute to developing public service leaders capable of responding effectively to the evolving landscape of governance and law enforcement.

Shri Sushil Kumar, Nodal Officer, Bihar Police Academy, added, “Structured training in management is crucial for developing proactive officers who can navigate complex challenges and ensure effective citizen service delivery.” Bihar Police Academy’s vision of becoming a Centre of Excellence for public service training aligns closely with IIM Bodh Gaya’s expertise in management education. This collaboration would enable the Academy to introduce structured management inputs into its training curricula, enhancing the administrative and leadership capacity of officers across ranks.

The MoU encompasses multiple areas of cooperation, including the design and delivery of customised management programmes, faculty exchange, joint research, and consultancy projects. IIM Bodh Gaya will conduct on-campus and e-learning programmes covering critical areas such as leadership, communication, organizational behaviour, project management, and stress management. Training plans, course content, and logistics will be jointly finalised by both institutions, ensuring programmes are tailored to the needs of Bihar’s police leadership.

Both institutions will work towards creating sustainable learning frameworks that support long-term capacity enhancement across the police force. This MoU represents a shared commitment to advancing academic excellence, knowledge sharing, and institutional collaboration for the greater public good.
