New Delhi: The Medical Council Committee (MCC) recently sent out a notice informing all PG NEET eligible candidates registered with the MCC of DGHS that there are currently 2244 (M.D., M.S., diploma, PG DNB), and 62 MDS seats available after the completion of four rounds of PG counseling in 2022 for the All India Quota, Central University, Central Institute, Deemed Universities, and PG DNB.

Therefore, to prevent the previous seats from being wasted, the competent authority has decided to hold a special stray vacancy round in an online format for the vacant 2244 PG (MD/ MS/Diploma/ PG DNB) and 62 MDS seats with consent from the MoHFW.

The following is the rule position for the special stary vacancy round:

  • 1. There won’t be any new registrations during the special stary vacancy round. Everyone who has pre-registered and is not currently holding a seat can take part.
  • However, for the special stary vacancy round, candidates will need to make new selections. Prior selections made by candidates in prior rounds will be declared “Null & Void.”
  • 2. To participate in the special stray vacancy round, all registered candidates—regardless of their category—must pay a refundable security deposit of RS. 50,000.
  • 3. Candidates who do not accept the seats assigned to them in the special stray vacancy round will lose their refundable security deposit.
  • 4. Candidates will be barred from sitting in the NEET PG 2023 examination if they do not accept the seats that have been assigned to them in the special stray vacancy round.
  • 5. Candidates who receive seats in the special stray vacancy round must show up at the institute where they will be seated along with their original documentation.

The following is a reminder of who is eligible to apply for the special stary vacancy round of PG counseling in 2022:

Candidates who had previously registered on the MCC portal but did not have a seat in the previous rounds of NEET PG counseling are eligible. MCC will conduct all-India counseling in 2022 based on state quotas.

  1.  A candidate who has already been assigned and seated in the AIQ/state counseling is ineligible.
    2. Candidates who were previously offered a seat in the AIQ mop-up round and stray vacancy round by MCC but did not accept it.

According to Gaurav Tyagi Founder of Career Xpert says:

“This is a very good chance for those children who were left from number 1 or 2. MCC stray rounds give chance to those students who were best in their subjects. Candidates who registered on the MCC portal in the past but were not offered a seat in the earlier rounds of NEET PG counseling are eligible. Based on state quotas, MCC will offer counseling across all of India in 2022.”
