The chefs qualified to represent India on the Asia level after winning the India Pastry Cup earlier this year, led by Team Captain Chef Niklesh Sharma, who commented on the team’s journey: “Our chefs have shown what passion and commitment can accomplish. Their creations not only showcased technical expertise but also highlighted India’s unique flavors and cultural richness. For the first time, APCA’s four centers—India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines—each represented their countries at the Asian Pastry Cup, marking a milestone achievement for the APCA brand and underscoring its role in shaping future culinary talent across Asia. In total, 9 teams from Asia participated over two exciting days of competition, with each team showcasing their skills in a range of challenging pastry categories including plated desserts, gâteau de voyage, gelato cups, and intricate chocolate and sugar showpieces.
Following their notable success at the Mondial Des Arts Sucrés, Chef Ghuman and Chef Keny continued to impress, bringing fresh ideas and a refined palate to the Asian Pastry Cup. Their work, inspired by local Indian flavors and seasonal ingredients, captivated judges and audiences alike.
Chef Sehaj Ghuman stated, “Our creativity and skill truly showcased the richness of Indian pastry arts on a global stage. This achievement reflects not only our dedication but also the inspiring potential within the culinary community in India. We are committed to nurturing aspiring chefs and look forward to future accomplishments.”
Chef Ghuman further added, “We are incredibly proud of what we accomplished. The experience was invaluable, and we are grateful for the opportunity to showcase our skills on such a grand stage.”
