Renowned artist Anil Naik of The Bombay Art Society graces successful art exhibition KalaKriti in MumbaiMumbai,06 April 2023: Independent art exhibition ‘KalaKriti’ makes a glorious opening in Mumbai. Brainchild of five artists from across India, the exhibition features the works of Vani Pillai and Anita Kher  Hasurkar from Mumbai, Sutapa Dasgupta from New Delhi, Ratnamala Lanka and P.C. Prasad from Andhra Pradesh. Each artist is a genius in their own right. The exhibition, an ode to the art heritage of India and the unparalleled styles of modern India aims at spreading the joy of art into people’s lives. Since day one, KalaKriti has garnered an overwhelming response from the visitors with over 1000 footfall within almost four days of it’s launch.

Recently the event was graced by the presence of esteemed art connoisseur and artist, Anil Naik, Chairperson, The Bombay Art Society who toured the exhibition setting his gaze on some of the marvellous works of the ace artists. Known for his individual shows all over India in premier art galleries, collection of the gallery of modern art museum(Delhi), Chandigarh museum and many other institutional and private collections in India and abroad, he spent hours admiring the labour of love and inspiring conversations about art and its shining future.

The celebration of art and creativity, with artworks covering a wide range of themes, styles, and techniques and spread over a sprawling 2500 sq ft, the exhibition has displayed 250 number of art pieces so far.

Sutapa Dasgupta added, “I was excited to collaborate with these lovely artists for our first combined venture, with a desire to bring art closer to those who appreciate the works and medium. We hope this will turn into an annual event, maybe one day spreading to other cities across India”

Anita Kher Hasurkar added, “it’s an enchanting experience to share space with artists from different parts of the country having their unique styles of art.”

Vani Pillai concluded, “Events like these celebrate the diversity and richness of human experience through different artistic perspectives.”

Mrs Neena Rege, a spokesperson from Nehru Centre Art Gallery expressed, “It has been refreshing to see Mumbaikar’s love for art. The last two days have been a full-house and I’m sure that KalaKriti will journey upwards from here on!”

Overall, ‘KalaKriti’ has been a great success and has managed to grip the interest of multi-generational audiences in the city. It has been an excellent opportunity for the visitors to appreciate the rich cultural heritage of our country and to experience the power and beauty of art in their otherwise mundane black-and-white lives.
