National, 17th October 2022: A grand amalgamation of diverse inspirations and ideas creatively aided Anand Kabra to showcase his dazzling collection “A Mélange of Ideas” at Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI. The event took place at the Jio World Convention Centre, India’s largest & foremost venue for marquee exhibitions, conventions, and social events and located in the heart of Mumbai’s business district, Bandra Kurla Complex.

Anand has always been adventurous and experimental in the way he has interpreted Indian clothes. This season too, he offered the modern Indian women ensembles that spelled comfort, ease, and lightness of mobility. “A Mélange of Ideas” was all about giving directions to clever mix-and-match styles and abandoning the concept of wearing staid clothes in conformed sets.

Fabrics moved effortlessly from luxurious silks like chiffon, dupioni, and habotai which created relaxed lines while silhouettes had linear cuts with feminine, soft tailoring and construction. There was a pleasant, stylish blend of tunics, trousers, skirts, anarkalis, saris, and corsetry, which were dreamt up in portraying Anand’s characteristic design sensibilities.

Moving onto a mixed color palette, Anand zeroed in on warm white, charcoal, mustard, and pale sky blue and then added the very vibrant and beloved Indian hue – vermilion.

Detailing was intense with prints heading the list, followed by delicate beading, intricate handmade lace, beautiful cutwork, and mesh, along with placement dyeing and contrast stitching.

Fashion has many images, but Anand Kabra ensured that they were presented in the most contemporary and exciting manner in his collection “A Mélange of Ideas”.

Speaking about his 2022 collection, Anand Kabra, said, “The collection is an ode to small, yet significant and gorgeous design details that I have made note of during my travels, or whilst rummaging through vintage clothing or going through old fashion images, and the like. The hodgepodge of creative ideas that had been living in my imagination for the past several years has all come together to create this collection.”
