Simple ONE, the Super EV is here

Bangalore, 24th May 2023: Simple Energy, India’s leading electric vehicle and clean energy start-up, today officially launched its maiden electric 2-wheeler- the Simple ONE at an attractive starting price of INR 1,45,000. The Super EV- Simple ONE will be available at a price of INR 1,58,000. This price shall also include a 750W charger. Unveiled globally on 15th August 2021, Simple ONE has undergone a series of improvement cycles basis the initial feedback received and is finally ready to make a mark on Indian roads!

The booking commencement for Simple ONE received a stupendous response with the company registering more than 1 lakh pre-bookings, in 18 months. Now, with the official launch, the company plans to facilitate customer deliveries in a phased manner, starting with Bangalore. The deliveries shall commence in the upcoming days. In addition, it will also focus on ramping up its retail operations in the next 12 months by being present in 40-50 cities, through a network of 160-180 retail stores in these cities.

The Simple ONE will now be equipped with fixed and removable (portable) batteries, delivering a superlative range of 212 kms in IDC, making it the longest-range E2W in India. This new and fresh offering in the electric 2W space is completely Made-in-India (in line with GOI’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat) and boasts of having 214 IP portfolio. Furthermore, Simple ONE is also the fastest E2W in its segment, sprinting to 0-40 kmph at a whopping 2.77 seconds. What also makes Simple ONE even more unique is that it is the first e-scooter to come with a thermal management system, developed collaboratively with IIT-Indore, helping mitigate any thermal runaways.

GRSE’s ‘GAINS’ Startup Challenge, a win-win partnership, says Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar

Chennai (May 24, 2023): Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd, one of India’s premier defence shipyards and a Category 1 Mini Ratna Company, has embarked on a mission to identify and encourage the development of innovative solutions towards technological advances in shipbuilding by Startups. As part of this drive, the Company launched GRSE Accelerated Innovation Nurturing Scheme – 2023 or “GAINS 2023” on May 22, 2023, to leverage the eco-system that addresses present and emerging challenges in the ship design and construction industry.

‘GAINS 2023’ was launched by the youngest officer of GRSE, Shri G Surya Prakash, Assistant Manager (Finance), in the august presence of Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Hon’ble Minister of State for Electronics and IT & Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. GRSE has been a pioneering shipyard since becoming a DPSU way back in 1960 by delivering the first indigenous warship INS Ajay to the Indian Navy in 1961. Open innovation is a well-established and effective way to gather ideas from outside the organisation to create better solutions in a relatively short time. “I am glad that PSUs like GRSE are now playing an active role not just as enablers but also as partners of young Indians and Startups all over the country,” he said.

The Hon’ble Minister also said that the complex platforms that have been delivered by shipyards like GRSE bear testimony to the capability of India not just in engineering but also in microelectronics, systems and sensors that go into making the battleships and naval platforms of today.

The ‘GAINS 2023’ Challenge is a two-stage process to help generate a large number of ideas from which a few promising ones may be selected and nurtured. This should also be accompanied by a rough order of cost and justification of professional qualification/ competence required to successfully implement the proposal.

India’s Airawat PSAI: Country’s Fastest Supercomputer ranks 75th among Global list of 500

New Delhi, 24th May 2023:- In addition to its impressive ranking, Airawat’s emergence as India’s fastest supercomputer signifies a major milestone for the country’s technological advancements. Airawat PSAI ranks 75th among the world’s top 500 supercomputers that not only elevates India’s scientific and technological standing but also opens up new opportunities for collaboration and innovation on a global scale. With its cutting-edge architecture and unparalleled computational capabilities, Airawat has the potential to revolutionize various sectors, including weather forecasting, drug discovery, climate modeling, and artificial intelligence research.

Deployed in 2023 by Netweb Technologies, Airawat PSAI, stands as India’s largest and fastest AI supercomputing system, with a remarkable speed of 13,170 teraflops (Rpeak), representing a significant leap forward in computational power. IESA Announces Spacetronics and Deftronics 2023, the Premier Strategic Electronics Summit
