Nirbhay Wadhwa, who has walked the ramp for PETA, shared, “I have always been enthralled by wildlife species such as pythons, peacocks, monkeys and many more. Today, we have come to a juncture where we must choose to co-exist, or we will perish. Without wildlife and other animal species, we will not be able to survive. I, along with a few friends of mine, have often rescued wild animals and sent them to animal shelters if need be. It is the need of the hour to protect these animals as there is a growing change in our lifestyle, food, clothing and infrastructure etc.” Narrating an incident from his hometown Jaipur the actor’s shares, “Jaipur is a city of peacocks. As I live very close to a hilly region in the city, peacocks often flock in my garden. One morning, I saw one of the peacocks’ leg was injured. On an immediate basis, I applied some Haldi paste and called the animal rescue team to send a van for the wounded creature. Thankfully, the team arrived on time, and the animal was put on an urgent medication while safely driven to the nearby shelter. Whenever in Jaipur to meet my family, I often pay a visit to these animal shelters. It brings me immense joy to see these animals healthy and happy.”
